Unfortunately he is right about the takeoff. The first one had the heli sliding dramatically to the left on lift off.

The one he saw had that corrected, but the heli had been initialized with the nose wheel at full extension which meant the disk was leaning backwards and so the Neo assumed that was normal and shot the heli backwards. That took me by surprise too. I will be ready next time.

I notice there was no comment about the landing!

I thought it was not too shabby for the 3rd flight on a heli I had just finished, but as a novice pilot, I am always prepared to be taught by my betters. Lets see your demo of how it should be done.

I am sure that Mr. Real Flight Expert will show us all how it should be done at the next NATs or IRCHA Scale event.

Quick question for Emile -- Where did you find that tail-wheel strut for your UH-60? (or did you fab it yourself?)
you guessed it, I made it myself. all brass tubing and strips. I made the one for my apache as well. (99% of my landing gears are my own fabrication)
drive a rotary, fly a rotorcraft

Thanks for the reply, Emile. I kind of figured that you had probably created it on your own -- just wanted to see if there might be something out there off the shelf that I could use. Very nice work (as usual).

WOW.. REALLY!! I don't think that was necessary man. You were not there to experience the field conditions and this was not a Competition. No one CARED about perfect take off's and landings and still don't. But I'm sure we all would like to see how the Ex-Fart does it. Thank you for pointing out our flaws.Dennis

RFCXPERT,"My MD500E fb 600 size after some tweaking now can take off and land vertically smooth with careful control."

Get rid of the flybar head and put on a 5 blade. Then go out on the 3rd flight in 30 mph wind and see how it is done.
Better yet, try it without any stabilization like some others do.

As far as more realistic scale flying, I don't think you will get any better in the conditions they were flying in. I understand that take off and landing are important but, in a multi clip video, the time allotment could be ate up during both. maybe next time I should do individual full length un-edited videos and spend about 12hrs uploading to youtube (a 5min vid. takes about 1hr to upload).

Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

I didn't crash. I just ran out of airspeed, altitude, and ideas all at the same time!

Nobody Wrong!!
I would really be happy if "EXPrT" would come on out and show us how it is done.. Never too old to learn... BUT, I suspect he was just trolling and a true EXPrt... Looks like he has left the building!!!

I hope he is enjoying his well tuned/flying heli...

Scatcat,

My 4 point radio strap came from here:

http://http://www.espritmodel.com/j...le-harness.aspx

There are less expensive ones by Seacraft on the same site, but they have a metal plate on the back.

I LOVE my Jeti 4 point strap.

Ron I thought your video was perfect. Ill be there more days next year so I can make it in the footage.

As far as Mr. Realflight Expert.... build yourself a Comanche, no any a motor driven fenestrone heli. And I will be ready for you to come to the field and school me. With all due respect you are commenting on the very pilots I look up to. They are far too honorable to entertain your criticism. How ever I am a young jedi padawan so I can pop off and say. "See you on the tar mat!"

The EC-120 is mine (now).
It was born a bit closer to you though.
