Can I connect the 3 wires from the ESC to the motor, and then connect the battery to the ESC, without a FBL/RX and it chime.?

or will that not be good.?

Thanks

I think most ESC's will not arm if they dont see a low throttle signal from the radio immediately upon powering up.

You need a throttle signal to tell the esc what to do..it may do nothing..or it may go to wide open throttle!!!

If you have a servo tester, you can connect the motor and ESC, then connect your throttle lead to the tester. You can now power up the ESC and the ESC should see a low throttle position once you have determined which direction gives the low signal. The ESC will not arm unless you have the tester giving a low signal. If you have met the low signal condition, the chimes will happen through the motor as per normal. Attach the motor to a mount if you intend to do more than test the effectiveness of the connections. Hope this helps.

Remember, hi throttle places most ESC's in program mode then moving the sticks (can) alter the programing
