Getting back into flying after a 7 year break. Need to dust of my helis, install new fuel line and plugs. I noticed that engine choices have plummeted since last I looked. Is OS or any manufacturer making a 30 size engine? I was familair with the 0S 32, 37, TT 36, and Toki 40. Now, looks like every block is 50 size

In the US the choices are 50 size as 91/105 size. On the world market you may still be able to find smaller engines, but none sourced oversease will carry a US distributor warranty. Most preferred airframes today are sized around the 600 or 700 class, so kit and engine manufacturers, importers, and distributors have adapted accordingly.

hey, buy the 50 engine, an OS Hyper 50, and 600 size blades, you may need a longer boom, but believe me that bigger 50 heli is so worth it, they do everything better "everything", hover better, more stable, more powerful, yet smoother,
really, if you know how to fly, OS 50, 600 blades. longer boom

good luck

I have a evo and a sceadu. Both will accept a 50 readily. I had smaller block engines in them which was ok but not great on performance. Will the newer 0S 50's run ok with 15%? I have a ton of it. I know 30% is ideal.

the OS hyper 50 will run on 15%, but it will tune easier on 30%, IMO with the 50 in a 30 size heli, don't be thinking you need to tune for peak power, you will have plenty enough power with the 50 twisting 550 or 570 blades, so be happy if it's a bit rich

BTW, you may want or may need to use a larger Pinion Gear on the clutch, some 30 size helis come from the factory geared lower than 50 size helis

OS37's are still currently used in Gaui NX4's which is a 430mm blade heli.

I think the 37 is discontinued, OS has updated their site and it does not show the 37

I guess that's why gaui brought out the 50 conversion of the nx4.
