I have a 700 size electric running a beastx flybarless controller and a 120 Castle ESC. It will alarm with a 6 cell buy not a 12 cell.

I have swapped and put a new Castle ESC 120HV edge on it and it does the same thing.

Any suggestions?

I would suspect the wire from battery. Mainly the series one.

Take a meter to it and verify voltage output.

I have replaced the battery jumper wire and rechecked the new wire with a ohm meter for continuity which it checked ok

Did a little futher checking and have 22ish voltage from each pack and once the jumper is put in place no voltage reading? So what gives?

Can't remember right but does the castle need to be programmed for a specific battery cell input?

what mode are you running it in as far as throttle type , Governor or fixed end points?
in gov mode you need to select one of 4 options, simple, gov low, gov high and set rpm. in the set rpm node you must set the voltage and motor information gearing etc. All but one will not require to have this information if selected , simple will disable this window, gov low , high and set rpm , the window remains active.

Is the wire homemade or purchased? Post a photo.

No, not for "input".
Yes, for cut-off purpose and nothing to do with arming.

@ Mr Dan
ESC should arm regardless of settings, provided throttle calibration has been done or throttle travel is already at max settings and trim all the way down.

He stated it arms with 6 cells.

It's a EC5 factory/store bought jumper. What is the proper wiring

You may have bought a parallel lead instead of a series lead??

60% of the time, it works every time!

Post a picture of batteries and connector plugged together.

I dont see how you can get a continuity with the ohm meter and no voltage.

ESC +RED wire to BATT#1 +RED wire.

ESC -BLACK wire to BATT#2 -BLACK wire.

BATT#1 -BLACK wire to BATT#2 +RED wire.

Connect wire to batteries and check for a voltage reading behind connectors (wires) going to battery where you should get a 6S Voltage per battery connector.

@Richardmid1
If he has a parallel wire, it should still arm like it has been with 6S

I suspect the third wire bridging both batteries but given EC5 connectors, a cold solder is unlikely.
