My new Mizar
It arrived today Safe and sound. The packing was great and the reward after 10 minutes of cutting into the box and through the supports and packing tape was a thing of beauty. Thank you Billj for a nice piece to add to my collection. Just going to do the stickers for now. But never know may get a wild hair up somewhere and paint it too.

Mizar
Well after much thought and persuasion I've decided to do it right and paint the fuse. Will keep everyone updated on the progress.

Since I'm waiting on funds and parts for my other projects
I started cutting out the holes in the fuse last night. Love the way there is a outline made into the fuse so you know where the cut.

All hole are cut and sanded them. Epoxied the horizontal fin in place. Then roughed up the gelcoat with 220 grit to take the shine off.

Today I masked off the windshield and got it ready for the Primer coats. This time of the year it will take longer for the painting between coats to dry.

Mizar update
Well after a long time of health problems and other things in life I'm back doing what I like to do.

Been working on the painting of the Mizar. Had to do it twice because when I put the clear on it fogged and turn it yellow. Had to sand that off and start all over.. but it's a ok second paint job. The first one was spot on.

The mechanics of it is a Airstar Evolution gasser with belt driv n tail.

The install into the fuse was a fight with the scale muffler being wider than the opening but no way to install after mechanics were in. The tail is very tight at the end no of the push. But with a little patience it got there.

Would like to give a big shout out to my best friend Stan (Doorman) who helped me with setting up the mechanics in December. He went out of his way to help me and it's greatly appreciated.

Here's a few pictures of it finished. Well some small things to do!

Glad it worked out!!
So, now you need to get a "scaler" together for Dalton....,

Scaler??
The Mizar isn't considered a scaler. Wow!! The 230 mechanics are built and need some love. After all the problems I've had I've forgot things you taught me Stan and I won't put that on you at an event. So I probably won't make it there this year unless my mind gets right. By the way when is Dalton??

Thanks Xcell for the reply!!

Dalton.,.
It is the first week of Sept.. not sure of the actual dates for scale flying only..
What sort of help are you needing??
Somrthing we can do over the phone??
Or, you could send me the mechanics and your tx and I could do the setup., just a couple of thoughts/options!!

Mizar flyable
Thanks to Stan at Dalton event the Mizar is flying. But he noticed slippage in the clutch as the blades weren't catching up with the motor as fast as they should. So going to re line the clutch material and try again.

Thank you again Stan. Also sorry I made your brain hurt again working on a gasser lol.
