Hi all new to the forum my current heli specs below
Align trex 450l dominator 6s
Dx6i
Spectrum dsmx
Gpro fbl

Can someone tell me if this is the correct operation of the rudder and slider on the heli

Red light on gpro = rate mode non head lock
Green light on gpro = HH heading hold

In HH if I turn the heli counter clock wise the servo horn should turn clockwise according to align trex manual ?

Rate mode looks fine I have movement left/right to endpoints

Video below shows

Yes that's correct although I would reverse the gyro switch so that it is in the UP position for HH. It just makes it easier when checking switch positions during pre flight checks.

I would also get into the habit of using the pitch slider or tail blades for checking direction because servo horn direction depends on it's orientation and whether its mounted in the front via a pivot or in the back or boom mounted.

60% of the time, it works every time!

i was thinking of reversing the gyro so HH is up switch, servo horn direction depends on it's orientation True

Thanks for confirming its correct i'm nearly ready to test the heli been weeks of learning and testing and will continue on as i gain experience

for a beginner would you recommend -10 +10 collective pitch ?
with throttle and pitch curve

normal:
throttle curve 0,40,80,80,80
pitch curve 40,45,50,75,100

stunt:
Throttle pitch 90,90,90,90,90
Pitch curve 0,25,50,75,100

also i will not be flying 3D only scale, normal flying could i leave Stunt to linear (0,25,50,75,100) or blank for throttle/pitch curve ?

+/- 10 degrees is a good starting point yes.

If you are only flying gentle circuits etc. I would leave stunt (Idle up) mode alone. You might find that 80% throttle is still too high for your type of flying so I would change that to 70% to start with so try 0-50-70-70-70.

Also keep your normal pitch curve linear 0-100 UNLESS you are totally new and think you might panic and slam the stick right down! It's just a good thing to get used to having equal +/- pitch for when your flying advances or in an auto rotation stiuation.

So
Throttle curve
0-50-70-70-70
Pitch curve
O-25-50-75-100

Stunt
Leave it at default linear
0,25,50,75,100 for pitch and throttle ?

Thank you for your advise and help

No I meant don't use stunt mode at all for now but it would be ok to set it the same as normal mode incase you flick it accidentally. With a linear pitch curve 0-100 and that normal throttle curve you can do a lot with the heli including loops and rolls. I would only introduce stunt mode if you plan on doing any sustained inverted, tic tocs, rainbows etc. and you would also need to get used to flicking throttle hold as that is the only way to stop the motor quickly if something goes wrong. Getting used to flicking throttle hold and practicing mini autos should be the first 'trick' to learn actually, it will save you A LOT of money in the long run!
