Same here....reminds me of a control line field where you have those
crazy loud, crazy fast planes or whatever they are, so fast you really
can't even enjoy what you are seeing.

well , if it doesn't touch the water>>, it's not a boat, so it has to touch the water at least 6 times to qualify as a boat

did that for years in the speed circles
use to see tethered cars like that in the late 50's and 60's with big McCoy and Duelling speed engines. Fastest I ever turned was 191 at 1969 Willow Grove NATS with a Class D speed, 2 line Kansas Twister, Supertigre ABC .65 with just the pipe trumpet and running 45% nitro, 70' lines,
Ran class B ships in 170's and class A's in 150's 160's. Love the sound of those class A ships on the pipe, like music.

I remember back in the 50s when my big brother took me to one of those tethered wire racing circuits. It was incredible that these cars were turning the nearly 200 miles an hour only a foot long and only 3 feet in front of you. Even though there was a low concrete wall between me and the cars it was kinda scary when that thing would sing by you.
I remember they had what looked like an antenna sticking out the back but it was really this tripwire to shut the fuel off by lowering some sort of object gate. Also in tuning the cars in the pits I noticed that the stop the car from running I would just throw a rag on the wheel wrap up and stop the engine.
Wonder what the g-load is on a 70 foot tether at 200 mph. Need to go figure that one out later.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

Britsh speed meet and will give you some idea what the pull is, but as you can see they always pull test before flight and hope the system holds up! the model looks to be an A speed job

Watch at YouTube

Will never forget the time back in the mid 80s at a Canadian speed meet was helping a buddy with his D job, middle of the flight the pylon handle broke off dragging him around on the ground till it flamed out, and yes , everyone hit the deck!!!!

I feel these are not aircraft, they may fly through the air but they will not fly through the air unassisted by centrifugal force. With the asymmetrical form of the motor support it should not be considered an aircraft.

This is nothing more than an exercise on how fast a person can make a motor move though a substance (air)

The same as with the boat. It won't even float upright with out the centrifugal forces acting on it. To me that makes it a FAIL!!!

might be so for single wing
but the conventional wing speed aircraft fly just fine, seen them come off the wire and if they don't hit anything seen them fly out over the horizon until fuel ran out.

Flew a state combat match in Hastings MI in 1968 and opponent"s combat plane came off the wires and left the airport grounds to be found by homeowner a few miles away.
