Electronics Question---Stator Gator---Lazy Engineer
Do any of you guys have a screen shot from a scope

of the output signal from the gator as attached to a

Zenoah (RC series with internal ignition ala Whiplash) ?

Or a reasonable description/sketch ??

I want to make a very small "black box" to interface

to the Aux 3 input on the AR 7300 BX.

Thanks Pals... Eric

thats not what he is talking about....

he wants to know what the electrical signal from the stator gator output "looks" like as seen from an oscilloscope.

my guess its a square wave, but if its negative, positive or an ac waveform I dont know. I have a Fluke scope, but have not bothered to hook it up to see on what it looks like.

I think Im gonna stop being lazy and fire her up

with our OWON portable from work.

RM--I dont think the output has "hard" edges

either a sawtooth or sinusoidal.

Thus Im gonna fab a cheap and rugged Schmitt Trigger

to get the edges the BeastX needs (ala align or spectrum sensor)

as these are hall devices.

Will report.....

you can probably make one with an opto-coupler on the zenoah side with a schmitt trigger output going to the RX input... thats all the stator gator really is, nothing more than an interface (with isolation for the RC unit) and level shifting.showing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...
