Looking for advise on a parachute rescue system for my drone
Hello guys, I bought a couple of months ago a phantom 4 and after few scares, I came to the conclusion that I needed a parachute rescue system on it. After hours of unfortunate web searching, I was ready to give up this idea but one week ago 1 found a system that seems to be reliable and easily reusable system at a fair price. So I wanted to ask you if you could give me your thoughts on it. Here is the video I found last week and hopefully you will be able to help me to make a choice.

My question is: Why are you crashing, or nearly crashing.
I have a Phantom 3 and find it so easy to fly it is ridiculously easy. Course I have flown quads for years before the built in auto pilot systems.
Where I fly there are lots of tall trees and a parachute would guarantee it would hang up in the top of 33 meter high pine tree.

.
Make sure you calibrate compass and gps home. If you get in trouble at altitudes where a parachute might help, just switch on the "Go home switch"
Perhaps I don't fully understand why you want a parachute recovery system, so a little more info would help.
I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

I watched the video and it appears the chute is behaving more like a drogue chute than a parachute.

I think that you already have what you need... just hit the "return to home" switch. This assumes that you are watching your battery power and not flying too long. We can't help you with that.

If you feel that you must have the parachute, go for it. I am not sure how you are going to trigger the device... I am assuming that you are using the controller that comes with the DJI Phantom... maybe a slider? 219 Euros = Approx $241

I see a spring inside a can, like those snake in a peanut can toys from our childhood. A servo with a release pin and a trigger switch on the transmitter is all that would be required. A free channel on the Rc with fail safe setting could activate the chute if radio signal is lost. Notice the can is covered with a simple textile and elastic banded cap. It claims reloading takes 60 seconds.Enjoy things that money can buy IF you don't lose the things money can't buy.

Realize the open fields used for testing. Imagine where the model will end up if deployed around trees, power lines, towers, buildings, etc.Enjoy things that money can buy IF you don't lose the things money can't buy.
