I am new to scale, what state is the Dalton event.?
the event is a laid back scale helicopter only fly-in. Its all about scale, bring some scale helis, fly some scale helis, watch some other scale helis fly, talk and discuss scale helis. if you have a machine you are in the process of building, bring it, there are many experienced modelers on hand to help answer questions, give ideas, setup help and maybe even get a machine test flown and adjusted for you. lots of info available and plenty fun too. very relaxing atmosphere and a great bunch of guys who are always willing to help out a new guy or even a seasoned guy. theres a steak dinner on sat evening courtesy of Joe Howard of East Coast Scale and some really neat and nice looking helis present. one word of warning though, after you attend once, you just might get hooked and start coming back every year, don't ask me how I know
some of the well knowns show up all the time too like Stan Kopreski, former national champion as well as Joe Howard of east coast scale, Peter Wales with some of his fine machines the guys from RC Aerodyne has been there the last few years with a ton of their goodies and the host of the event and also former national champion, Darrell Sprayberry. He knows how to run a scale event and you will see why. Last year the heli lineup on the runway took the full length. mark it down and make the trip, you wont regret it

remember guys this year like last it is a 1 week long event,
the first part of the week anything that fly's goes, planks, helis, kites, brooms you name it Thursday on only scale helis.
If you are a first timer this is the place to be, you will see more beautiful scale helis at Dalton than you will see at IRCHA
show up once and i think you will keep on coming see you all there.

I'll second that. Last year was my first Dalton. Best "fun fly" experience I have ever had.

Tom you will have a blast guaranteed,
the Key West inn in Chattsworth is a economy price motel
clean rooms older place no pool or amenities 12 miles from field.
I used to stay there until i started camping at the field.

Sorry guys, I haven't been on here in a while, but trying to catch up.
Russel, man do yourself a favor and come to Dalton.... A great bunch of folks, I put this event on my annual to do list for sure.

Lots and lots of scale, super friendly folks, more advise and mentorship than you could ever ask for. You see some old familiar faces as well as meet many new ones.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

BTW, Great shot of your Airwolf in the mag right? Andy is the MAN....
