Breast Cancer and some food for thought
It seems that breast cancer is everywhere these days. One thing that I find odd is that we aren't looking at the cause as much as we are the "cure". Consider this, under your arm pit there are lymph nodes. It's common for breast cancer to spread to the lymph nodes, if not start there.

In your typical deodorant, there is aluminum. We put it under our arms and it seems to seal the pores in an unnatural way, trading functional evolution for vanity if you think about it. Makes me wonder if common deodorant might be a cause of breast cancer.?

Consider using a natural deodorant without Aluminum, preferably unscented. Maybe even start your kids with these kinds of deodorants when they are young and explain why. Same for your loved ones. Bring some awareness to them about this.

In modern society, we surround ourselves with products that trade vanity for personal hygiene and safety. I think cancer is the result of this trade off.

Not asking you to smell, just asking you to think about making a small change that may have a real impact on you and your family's health and well-being. If enough people started to make this particular change, it would send a real message to large corporations that certain household items that contain cancer causing chemicals are not profitable. Maybe they would change too.

Men and women have the same lymp nodes. Use the same deoderant. Not many guys worry about breast cancer.... but you never know.

If you do want to go aluminum free there are a few brands to chose from. I Might try Arm And Hammer.

Breast cancer and breast tumors are not that uncommon in men. We just don't hear about them much. Quite a few years ago, my father had tumors in both breasts and both tumors were removed by surgery in exactly the same manor they do for women, called a lumpectomy. They did exactly the same tests, etc. as when the same process is performed on women. The surgeon went to great detail to explain that men are not that different from women in this area, we (men) just don't develop physical breasts like women do. Men, lacking as much estrogen in their body have breast tissue that is not as active as in women. I was warned this condition might be heredity related so I have watched for any problems in my life. For those who might be thinking it, NO, neither dad nor myself ever had what is commonly called "man boobs" today and he remained quite fit until his death at age 93.

As far as I know, dad never used any aluminum based anti-perspirants, just Mennen deodorant and then only on occasion as he was an old school farmer type.

I'm quite sensitive to breast cancer in my household as my wife is a 23 year breast cancer survivor, and very proud of the accomplishment.

Both Arm and Hammer and Mennen contain ingredients linked to cancer.

The lymph node tract is associated with many kinds of cancers found in men. It just so happens that the lymph nodes in the arm pit are the ones that come in direct contact with deodorant. Think of the lymph node tract in men and women as a high way with many exits up and down the body.

Noob. I agree with you 100%. I've stopped using commercial deodorant many years ago and have found alternatives. Nobody has ever told me they noticed and I ask.

given todays political correctness and fear of offending...Im sure some of them were lying to you...

Ever see people from India trying on shoes at a footlocker?... sales associates were all smiles...after they left, Im almost positive they burned the shoes they tried on and wrote it off as a loss...

Cancer has many triggers...alot of it relates to genetics, its very common in dogs as they age, hell even fish get it.... The fact is we are exposed to ALOT of chemicals every single day...its in your toothpaste, food, soap, even the air you breathe...even that purified water you thought was pure....even the sun and its broadband UV is a trigger.... but some people are more sensitive than others.

You could live in isolation, live 100% off the grid, use only what mother nature provides you and if cancer runs in your family, chances are you will still get it...

I say enjoy life...Ive seen too many people worry 24/7 about what they eat, how much they exercise, what things they use, even go to church and donate any spare time to the needy....

then die a horrible death in an accident or have a surprise disease take them out in a matter of weeks in the prime of their life...

So I say enjoy life...what ever way suits you and does not hurt those around you, cause you never know when your time is up.

I believe in enjoying life, but I also believe in mitigating risk so that life can be enjoyed longer. A small tweak to your daily hygiene regimen, and your family's for that matter, could prevent heart break at an early age due to a life cut short after a terrible battle with a horrific disease.

Lots of money is invested in treatment and charity walks, but little emphasis is put on the cause. You can wear a pink ribbon and send a check or you can talk to your kids when they start using deodorant while developing life long hygiene regimens. Get something natural under your arm. I feel strongly about this and I hope you do too.

I had a peek at the cancer reasearch center website. They say there is no conclusive evidence.... I think it was a california website too. Just about everything causes cancer in california, but aparently not deodorant.

I read a study that said the 99% of all studies are bullsh!t.

You want to go "aluminum free", then by all means, do that.
But, I'd avoid antacids too (aluminum).

And, stop using cell phones (RF radiation in your ear).
And, sleeping under an electric blanket / living too close to power lines (EMI radiation).

And, don't go off the grid and live in a cave (Radon gas)

Statically, a person (male / female) will die in a car wreak, not breast cancer. The difference is a car wreck is quick while Cancer is long, painful and expensive. Which is more scary?
I've lost significant people to both.

I still drive, eat red meat, use a cell phone, sleep under an electric blanket and work in the basement.
No matter how careful you are, if you live long enough, you die from something

well duh...

like I already suggested.

Simple fact: You can do everything right and die young... you can do everything wrong and die of old age in your sleep in your late 90s...

fate and genetics... thats the cold hard truth.

My wife is a breast cancer survivor, she used the "safe" deodorants, we didn't have a microwave, doesn't drink or smoke, no cell phone, eats right and exercises regularly.
She still had cancer and a mastectomy, followed by chemotherapy.
As her oncologist put it "I have to tell healthy people everyday they have cancer"
What we do know is her situation was from high estrogen levels, we also learned that women that don't have children have a higher risk of getting breast cancer, the way it was explained to us is when women have children their estrogen levels stay in check, women today don't have as many kids as they used to so estrogen levels are high making breast cancer more of a risk.
She now takes a daily medication to keep her estrogen levels low and will take it every day for 10 years.

ever see what lots of kids does to a couples libido?...not to mention your checking account and her figure (as well as yours in some cases)...

These "moms' that have like 6 plus kids... must be like throwing a hotdog down a hallway...

There's deodorants, and there's antiperspirants. Antiperspirants are the ones that contain aluminum (which btw is also linked to alzheimer's), although some deodorants may have some aluminum too. I only use deodorants. I don't care if I sweat a lot.
