Thunderbird jet crashed in Colorado
The pilot ejected safely and is walking around, not hurt, according to a U.S. Air Force tweet.

I saw the Blue Angels last weekend at Jones Beach, NY and the day before during a practice run a pilot crashed into Hudson River near Manhattan and he died too. He was flying a WW2 Warbird, p47 Thunderbolt.

Ohio and NY Shows have been canceled.
Ohio and NY Shows have been canceled. As usually happens, they pause after each crash.

Just heard from a buddy in CO that the team was holding waiting for Obama, and ran their fuel down to bingo -, to the point the crash was due to fuel exhaustion. The lack of fire does sorta point in that direction.

Also in the same info packet, was news that the team Boss and the pilot where both fired, and that the team might be done for the year.

I realize a lot of this is still conjecture, but it is what I have heard.

Fuel exhaustion does sound logical due to lack of fire.

This is what I just received from my buddy in CO:
Of course, for a local-area show, the T-birds don't take off with a full load of fuel, and the solos use more burner playing catch-up. BHO was programmed to speak for 15 minutes, but he stretched it to 45 minutes. 20 minutes before flameout, the solo called low fuel, and lead told him just don't use any more burner. They came off their low pass over the Trade School and headed to COS, but the runway had changed from south to north. Rather than declare emergency fuel, landing south, he tried to make the circuit and ran dry.
The word I got on the Blue Angel is he was coming off a solo low, slow pass and found a Life Flight helicopter at his 12. He turned away but didn't have the energy to make it.

As much as I hate to admit it, he didn't have anything to do with the Blue Angels pilot that did not survive his crash.Logo 700, Specter 700, Goblin 700, Trex 700DFC, Gaui X7, Logo 690SX, Logo 600SX; Trex 470 Trex 500

Thunderbirds are flying this weekend at OC, MD - I'll be near by so I might go to the show

http://afthunderbirds.com/site/2016...ation-schedule/

editorial: No fan of the current administration here but there is no way to blame the POTUS office for this accident. It was the pilot and crew's responsibility to maintain operational safety. For the Navy accident, same thing even if POTUS was in the area which he wasn't.

Thoughts to the family who lost their dad/husband/son in the Navy accident
