I considered getting a Jeti but the FCC test was NOT encouraging
so what does that mean?

What models do you fly?

If only helis then you can add V Control into the mix.

I would take Futaba over Spektrum.

Put the FCC number in the first two slots and download the test results.

nice charts................no idea what they mean though. The conclusion of the tests were that it passed the required certification. What issues are hidden in there?Proprietor - Gas Powered Helicopters

The Spectrum is supposed to be flat. Dropping off 10 dB at each end is not really good. I was looking at the hand held radio. But hey, these radios vary by a huge amount in output as noted above. Also they should have used a patch antenna at the top of the screen rather than jamming the dipoles next to the screen - like mounting your CB antenna on the side of your metal barn.

Futaba has been is/was the standard that all other radio's
were measured against for dependability for years

Are they still ? For me yes !

For the latest greatest features no!
but when they come out with a new feature it works period

I myself like to use one brand of equipment in my models
for compatibility sake no fuss no muss no integration problems

There are no doubt other FBL units that probably work as good or better along with cheaper receivers servos and transmitters

I wont say there isn't because I own several other brands of stuff
for my BNF models and they work well

Am I paying for the Futaba name?
I have no doubt I am

But I don't hear very many people complaining about Futaba's
stuff not working well or any dependability issues

I do hear people complain about no blue tooth no speech alarms
for different modes etc.etc.

To me them are just unnecessary features
The early adopters and younger crowd want/need this for the cool factor I don't

just my 1 1/2 cents worth
ageing is manditory maturity is optional

Banshee rider hit that well. I have to throw the new Jr stuff into the mix also along with Futaba being at the top. I have had both and both are super reliable now. What ever a person want to measure Jr with just don't include what used to be as hardware wise the older Jr was good but still had the spektrum protocol

I am glad someone else is like me also all the radio talking to me and crap is something I would and do turn off. We know how long I and my kid can fly so I don't need it babbling at me

I finally made my decision to change over to futaba 10jh and keep the dx8 for the bnf stuff.
Horizon' hobby service is excellent and I am just tired of needing service.

You know the 10J isn't FASST, right? I don't know if it is important to you but it's FHSS only."Well, nothing bad can happen now."

In the scheme of things the 14SG probably gives the best bang for your buck as it supports FASST and FHSS.

Just think you can fly a 150 without the need for an additional receiver.

I have had the 14sg for about four years now and can testify that the radio is rock solid. I just recently bought the DX9 and am in love with the ease of programing on it BUT, I am still gun shy as far as signal reliability on the DX9. I guess it is from their older versions that browned out all of the time.trex 700fbl cal30,minititan,, trx600fbl,trex250,logo 500,Velocity N2

A brown out is low receiver voltage related, not the TX.

I still have an OLD DX7 DSM2 from 2007 which has never let me down but then again they were made by JR!
60% of the time, it works every time!

Yea but their reputation preceded them and I would never have bought one the way they performed for their owners, JR or not.trex 700fbl cal30,minititan,, trx600fbl,trex250,logo 500,Velocity N2
