Help with Beast x on trex 450...
I have a trex 450 with a beast X just installed. It just doesn't feel anything like a flybar. I have messed with setting but just cant get it where it feels comfortable.... I guess you'd call it "twitchy" feel. The question is i have Savox SH -0257MG. These are 65 HZ, is that fast enough to make this work ? Just thinking that might help with the feel of it. I have read other posts on here saying how stable it feels... this thing is far from stable right now... maybe just need to keep working with it. The current settings:
Dial 1: Half way.
Dial 2: Halfway.
Dial 3: A little below half.
(by the way tail seems to be pretty good)
swash center A: didnt mess with
Control Behavior B: sport
Swash pitching up C: medium
Tail head lock D: high
Stick deadband E: 2 (not sure what this needs to be)
Tail torque F: off
Cyclic response G: normal
Pitch Boost H: off

Thanks !

I fly scale helps and have a beast in one of my favorite. I had the same issue, and also had other folks help me set mine up and they had the same issue. one day I said heck I'm gonna go to the lowest setting on the control behavior setting, It cured all my issues. It is one of my favorite machines to fly. Now granted, I fly 1200 head speed, it sounds like the same issue, just try it, it won't hurt.

Change Parameter Menu Item "B" to "Transmitter". Now you can dial in dual rate and expo to get the exact feel that you want.

I have Dual Rate and Expo for pitch and roll assigned to "Switch C" on my DX9 with the following settings:

Position "0" 100% throw, 10% expo
Position "1" 90% throw, 20% expo
Position "2" 80% throw, 30% expo

These settings work well for me, your results may vary.

If it feels twichy at center stick when hovering , you may need to in put some expo on evavator and alieron. I as a beginner I liked 30% helped smotho out my twichy thumbs......then went to 20% when i got more comfy with it.Fly Hard......Team Viagra

Digital servos will definitely help but that doesn't sound like your issue. Something is wrong in the setup if it feels twitchy in Sport mode. The only thing I can think of that might make it feel a bit uncontrollable is if you have set Parameter N incorrectly (piro optimisation), you have to make sure that the swash tilt stays pointing in the same COMPASS direction i.e. where it tilts towards a certain wall in your house/garage while you rotate the heli around the main shaft.

On a 450 I would also recommend adding some tail pre comp to prevent tail swing due to rotor torque during fast pitch changes. Again make sure the pre comp is in the right direction (needs to be giving RIGHT rudder at full positive and negative pitch but return the zero at mid collective).

I also agree with the above about using transmitter mode instead of one of the preset flight modes as you can add your own DR and EXPO just like you would on a flybarred heli. I personally max out DR (125%) and run 25% expo but I fly thumbs and 3D.

P.S. make sure you have the blue light at 6 degrees in setup parameter J.
60% of the time, it works every time!
