There are very few people who have lived long who don't realize that **** happens. And it can happen to anyone.

Naivety comes from inexperience. Wisdom with age. Course don't tell the young ones that. They know everything.

You old codgers.

Locking a door and packing a gun is similar behavior? On what planet?

The more I read the opinions of pro gun, I realize it's a bunch of people that are afraid. Why are they afraid? Of course bad things can happen, but what are the chances? Even if something bad went down, most gun owners don't have any real training. Could they really handle the situation?

Why are people afraid? You might want to try watching a show on TV called the news.'The "honest" citizens in places like Ferguson are still killing each other and innocent bystanders, nightly.
Then there's Chicago, Detroit, DC, LA... Due to drugs and gangs they are more dangerous than Baghdad.

Only 2% of folks in Syria have access to weapons. Sitting ducks, any little gang of armed freaks can rule over them, tear them apart....

I dont need my guns. The reason i dont need them is because we all have them. Needs to stay that way.

Is it like that in St. James ?
We have had some druggies get shot breaking into occupied homes. Also, I Didn't have to shoot it but we had a mountain lion in my back yard once. Coyotes all of the time as well, not to mention snakes. The neighbor had a black bear in their garage and the people that live across the road saw it as well.
And we don't exactly live in the wilderness but we are about thirty minutes from the police.
My wife encountered the lion while cutting the grass. She was pretty shook up. Takes a gun with her to cut by the pond now.
But now the real problem, I am the production manager at a local factory and I've had an unstable ex employee show up in my yard, after he had spent the night in one of my sheds. That is the closest that I've ever came to having to use a gun to defend my family and why I know that it takes at least thirty minutes for the cops to show up.

Tommy,
Can the women and the elderly in NJ protect themselves with their bare hands?

It sounds like you need the gun protection for the wildlife.

Only law enforcement are allowed to carry in NJ one of the most densely populated states in the country. The gun violence happens mostly in the inner cities with the occasional murder suicide by the legal gun owner.

I'm paraphasing...

Hillary said "We won't be bullied by the gun lobby" and suggested there should be much stricter controls on guns.

The Donald said she should give up her security detail if that is how she feels.

While I deeply dislike both of these people, I can't help but agree with The Donald. I think it is disingenuous to suggest that I should give up my firearms when you are surrounded by a posse charged with your safety.

I would consider giving up my right to open carry (or concealed carry) if Hillary would be willing to get in a Chevy, by herself, and drive to the ghetto in my little southern town for a campaign speech. If she would be willing to travel unescorted for the rest of her life, as I do, we would be able to have a more frank conversation about gun control. The day she checks herself into a Holiday Inn in Atlanta, without security, we can open the conversation.

Until then, the hypocrisy of her words is too much to continue the conversation.
"Well, nothing bad can happen now."

I agree with the above statement 100%, and that's the problem with wealthy elites making descisions in our government. They have what they have and that's great, but how can they possibly make descisions for the majority of America, when they can't relate at all???????????I made a mistake once, but I was wrong?

but how can they possibly make descisions for the majority of America, when they can't relate at all???????????
And that is the main problem. They are not supposed to make decisions based on their lives, they are supposed to make decisions based on what the people they represent think and based only on the people's needs and the Constitution. Not on the highest bidder's wants either, and that is where Hillary really fails us all.

Hillary said "We won't be bullied by the gun lobby"
I don't know about the rest of you, but I've never been bullied by anyone who stands for my rights. Hillary is the being disingenuous with her gun control nonsense.

As a law abiding gun owner, the only bullying I get is from progressives trying to take away my rights. So GTFO with that stuff that is PUSHED BY THE ELITES.
Donald has just been bought out by the RNC and the NRA also
Good. You know what they say. "I'm the NRA." I'm glad they act on my behalf. Sometimes I think the NRA is the only thing, short of a revolution, standing between these tyrants and our constitution. Long live the NRA and down with progressivism and rewrites of the constitution.

If it is going to come to blows, it's going to be over guns. The liberals talk a dangerous game with gun control. Confiscation day would be the bloodiest day in American history.

For a history lesson. See Lexington and Concord. The first gun control attempt on American soil.

I hope future attempts are as failing as that one by the Brits was.

No kings. No gun control. Govern yourself so as not to be governed. Anything else is slavery.
