Man, that would be the cat's meow. I hope it pans out.

Only issue I see, though is would manufacturers be willing to make packs that never need replacing. Seems that they would be shooting themselves in the foot as far as repeat sales go.

The way I read it, They are no different than the normal rechargeable batteries that you can buy now and are mass produced all the same.

They will fail eventually meaning you have to buy more and manufacturers are producing them all the same.

Ironic that I am reading and replying to this on the day that I have just bought rechargeable Nimh's for my digital camera. The originals have lasted about 5 yrs but are not lasting as long between charges now. They probably haven't had the hundreds of thousands of charges that the article states but they have served me well.

...efficiency...

Ratio between results and resources ...

In our aeromodels there is seriuos amount of power in relations to minor results.

No matter how big your battery packs are, you still over estimated power requeriment of your heli...

For instance, my trex600E PRO is a monster of 8 HP, doing its job just with 2 HP.

What about the other 6 HP ?... Loss of money...

Do we need better lipos?... No... We need better designs.

When I see an article about new battery tech I just keep scrolling.

Way too many years waiting for that 12x increase in this or that. Anyone else notice it's always 12x?
