I have the old 611 servos still with my Vbars, but have a minor tail issue and am looking to solve and try another servo on my recently stretched 480 now 500 with 80mm tail blades that has the Savox, I see many folks very pleased with the 251, but not one anywhere for purchase it seems.

Is the 254 the new flavor? or do I get my tried and true 9256. I like the idea of metal gears when they arent sloppy. MY 9256 servos are ancient and still work great.

The BLS254 is same as BLS251 but has a centering pulse of 1520

The BLS256 was the HV replacement for BLS251, Looks like Futaba is going in a new direction, The price really reflects how proud they are of their new Line

The actual gear composition of the BLS251 works nicely.
- Metal output gear so the horn screw won't strip easily
- Plastic gears mixed with metal for longer life than all metal
- This is very ideal on nitro or gasser applications
- Plastic gears has than plenty of torque for the tail

You will see these BLS251 every so often on the forums, I have BLS251 x 4 for backup and I use for my entire fleet, I do love the BLS251
but recently I stumble upon a youtube video comparing our beloved BLS251 and MKS BLS990. Maybe it's time for something better? In with the new?

This heli has the YGE90 at 5.7v

The current supplied servo has respectable specs (480 extreme combo
) but I'm having a slight wag in hover . Some folks solved it with the servo and others the grips.

That being the situation how does the 254 centering pulse compare to the 9256?

Scott- how about unloading one?
It'll go to a good cause. Logo extreme.

The 254 is 1520us versus 760us for the 251/256.

The current BLS276SV works extremely well on 6V. I know this firsthand from my own model with Kontronik esc BEC set at 6V.

YesDr Ben, the BLS 254 is 1520 (not 1052 I had put earlier, late night dyslexia). I corrected

The BLS254 was for gyro that don't operate on narrow band 760, for compatibility with certain gyros. Your Futaba S9256 is narrow band 760 (just like Dr Ben indicated).
