When will I see them in the UK? Or is it like the many gear ratio options promised for this model that never happened?!
I don't recall Matt promising any other gear ratio options besides the two that have been available since initial release.

From their blurb:
Multiple Main Gear Ratios – Want to run the Synergy N7 as a 600 class helicopter with a 90 nitro motor? Want to run the OS GT15 gas motor at a different gear ratio? You can do it! The Synergy N7 comes with a 17 tooth pinion and a 139T main gear. Optional pinions are available to accommodate many different configurations.

Well, technically, the two pinions that are available make that statement true. Two pinions means multiple gear ratios are available and it does say "many configurations" not "many gear ratios".

Was there a specific pinion you need? I've run my N7s with two different 91s, a 105, and a 120 with the stock pinion all with great performance. I'm sure if there were another popular motor that people were wanting to run that required a different gear ratio, Matt would definitely consider it.

I think there was high hopes for the GT15, unfortunately it sort of fell on its face and there was never a pinion released to accommodate it. I still wouldn't mind having the optional pinion for it some day. It could be fun even though its not high performance

As for running it as a 600, I think everyone quickly realized that this would be a tank of a 600 size model and that never developed either. Not sure what pinion would be required for a 600

It says optional pinions not pinion. Ide personally like a 16T pinion and I emailed synergy about it a while ago but didn't get anywhere. It's not that much of a deal since I now have a 105 but with a 16t pinion you would have electric style torque even on a 91!60% of the time, it works every time!

So I ordered a Trex 550L Dominator pinion (16T), bored it out, machined the stock pinion down to make the 16T a press fit with some thread locker on. Tested it yesterday and I could be silly on the sticks like you can with an electric heli! Only problem was the damn clutch slipping like crazy towards the end so i've ordered the XL clutch.60% of the time, it works every time!

That's exactly why I haven't bought one, I was hoping that Midlands or Fast-lads would stock them. I'm interested in your findings with the modified pinion once you get the big clutch fitted

Sorry for the late reply I've been too busy flying it! I've now done 3 gallons with the new clutch and 16t pinion and have gone from 12 degrees pitch to 13 and still no bogging, I'm actually thinking of upping it to 14 later. The engine simply doesn't load up! I got the idea when I had my gaui nx4 which runs a maximum of 2700 rpm which is quite low for a 425 blade heli these days and you could be really silly on the sticks with that heli too!
