Screw Rent Control
When my grandmother passed, we went to my grandparents apartment to clean it out. I came across about 30 years of cleared checks including rent checks. It sickened me that my grandparents stayed in the same 2 bedroom apartment for over 30 years vs. Buying a home and having something substansial. My grandfather was retired military and worked for the postal service until he retired.
I purchased my house in 2002 with my Mortgage beING the same or lower than renting. I am 15k away from paying it off (by my Calc in 2 years)
That is my Rent Control. It's never too late to start your.

your rent will go up ANYWHERE you move to... thats the way renters work...you slowly increase the rent, to push up your profit. When the tenant complains, one of two things will happen, they will either complain and stay OR complain and move...If they stay, the renter will simply "delay" any further increases (he has maxed out what he can get for that apartment)...If they move, the renter simply starts a new contract at a lower price and starts up the process again.

The renter is simply playing the market...they adjust the rent to what the maximum the market will sustain.
showing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...

And that's a fallacy too many live by. They think that someone else will pay for the increased taxes and regulations.Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about!

It's a Soul searching when you see them collapse : 2 Case's

One a Commercial Lease-E rent's the square footage to Vendors
He has Hedged his Payback on the Property to his BANK of the strip mall depending on what he obtain's from leasing the space.

The Collection from his renting vendors

ONE vendor is doing very well - He doubles their rent !

They say { NOPE } and pull Out - Crash it ! Starting a Tsunami in which the Commercial Lease -E : Cannot no longer pay his bank note.

He de-faults on the Entire Strip mall- Hang's the Bank with Dead Property.

Another Business who runs a GREAT Family Basic Bacon and Egg's Restaurant with a Full Tilt Menu and GREAT Service and Quality. They come in with a Franchise.

They buy the property - Set up a NEW Building w /Interior and the Workings of a Commercial Kitchen $$$$.

City wacks em afterwards with Uber High Taxes: It was Hilarious -

City Council and Leadership asks ?? WHy are you pulling out ??

Answer !! : Do you know how many pancakes I gota sell to pay $40,000.00 per year in TAXES ??

THEY DID NOT UNDERSTAND - POOF :
All Liberal Wana Bee's w/o Judgement or Wisdom : Shifties

Our LOCATION is a Pile of Crumbling city Infrastructure : WHY ??

WHY - Where did the %$$$ Go ??

If we pay people $25 an hour to flip burgers, there will no longer be any flipped burgers.

Thus; no more flip burger jobs. No more flip burger joints.

Raising the minimum wage is inflationary. That means it is self defeating as the price of everything goes up to cover the wages, so you can buy less and pay more tax on you wages as well. Which means that after a short while you are actually worse off with the higher wage.
We need more of the better paying manufacturing jobs that Obama has done his very best to run out of America. NOT more money for doing crap jobs.

If we ever get a business person in office they would understand this very simple principle.
Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about!

By humans...lol

I'm sure you've seen where the industry is developing "robots" which will "flip burgers" more reliably.

And nobody's gonna pay somebody $25/hr to clean tables, floors, or bathroom toilets.

Kinda Reversed : 1st you gota Save Money to BUY One - Then pay For it

Unless you can get Bernie the Commi or Hillary the Traitor to GIVE you one - Like Tiny House Nation on a trailer cart.

Save 10% Earnest Down money " CASH " ( Your Own } - Then go Purchase a Mortgage -

{ The Interest payment plan " } at 3.67% money its almost FREE

cool then ill sell burgers from my home for 5 bucks a burger lol when i get one
Then you can sell - Burgers ~ ! for $5.00 including your Cost's. FREE LABOR

Based upon : Fairness = What is ANY one ENTITLED too FREE ?

AIR : about it No -Sam Sugar Daddies or Momma

OR

Move too New York City : Wear a Cow Boy Hat / a Jock / Cowboy Boot's, Sing and Dance around with a Guitar, freezing your googles off.

Make $25.00 per hour, live in a $2500.00 a month closet and share a bathroom.

Cease the opportunity - Even get your wages by APpple PAY !

Then it's automatic deposit & Automatic withdrawal

The now you see it - now you don't & Stealth TAXES

You can't drive an economy by just spending money on junk, it has to come from jobs and opportunity.
But what pays the salary of those jobs??? Revenues generated by selling stuff!

Its a proven economic fact that those at the bottom spend most of what they earn back into the economy (actually more than they earn due to tax subsidies). Those at the top invest most of what they earn into the stock market. That investment will not keep growing if the underlying revenues of the public corporations its invested in are not growing. There are tricks that companies use to hide the fact they are not increasing revenues (stock buy backs, etc) but eventually those tactics get used up and sooner or later the market wont keep supporting stock appreciation on a stagnant underlying economy.

Its a complicated issue that is not as simple as either the Republicans OR the Democrats make it out to be. I just saw a very interesting read on this topic:

Thats the conventional wisdom, but that guy in California who declared a 70k minimum wage is proving it wrong. His profits have doubled.

That's a simple problem to solve.

Move out.

Sorry. But, not many are going to have much sympathy for someone that stays in a state where you are taxed and regulated to death.

Don't come back and say it cannot be done. Anybody with any smarts knows better than that.

Look, I understand some people get caught in situations where they seemingly cannot change.

I have been there a couple of times over the years. Each time I was able to dig myself out by scaling my life back and living well below my means and saving enough to get out or finding a job that pays enough to get out. Once it was very tough and I never thought I would make it. But, it worked out.

It takes a mind set of determination. Not a mind of giving up and accepting that you cannot do better. If you think like that, then you will be like that. It's not rocket science.
