OS 105
So after a "mishap" on my nitro, I have unfortunately damaged my Hatori SB-22FH for my 105 Hzr. I was super lucky to find this pipe in new condition from an individual seller and am just sick that it is damaged beyond use. I loved the power I was able to get with this combo on my G4.1 nitro, but now I am at a loss as to what the next best pipe is.
I have ordered a OS powerboost, but thought I'd ask the opinions of others who have maybe ended up in the same boat as me. Anyone care to comment on a pipe with hopefully similar performance as the Hatori SB-22FH?

Well the OS powerboost pipe was designed to go with the 105 so should give the best performance. Tuning plays a much bigger part in power than the make of pipe.60% of the time, it works every time!

I see what your saying, but having flown the MP7 and then switching over to the Hatori, I saw quite a bit of difference in motor smoothness and consistency. It also seemed easier to tune.
I know the powerboost is made for the 105, but so is the MP7 and the Hatori, and I was wondering how the powerboost compared to the other two!?

I know..it's kinda of a silly question I guess. I was mostly inquiring about the powerboost. But also want to get how others felt who have are maybe I'm the same boat as me. I mean, if I could have it my way, I would buy another Hatori! But I can't, and neither can anyone else, as far as I know! So I guess, I'm just trying to feel which direction others are taking!Futaba, Thunder Tiger, Castle, Optipower, Rail Blades and ProgressiveRC!!

answered your own question again
just kidding

besides finding a used Hatori what other Choice do you have? besides i think you would be hard pressed to notice the difference between the two pipes? fly more and worry less

sorry have to disagree Richard

the pipe is equally as important as tuning or any other aspect to a 2 stroke motor!
yes , ive flown all 3 , in terms of performance powerboost pipe the worst with Hatori and the MP7 in a neck and neck race ,I personally prefer the hatori , for me it looks a lot better than the rest and I really really like the soft mounts , I have had 2 of the hatori pipes break on the welds but they were from the very first batch that hatori made for the 105 , both were replaced free of charge and have not had a single issue since , every now and then I need to replace the O rings and silicon rubber mounts (Maybe once a year , or at the very most once every 8 months)
If I were in the market for a new 105 pipe , i would use the one I bought and kept in my cupboard when I heard Hatori discontinued the 105 pipe , seriously though Id look for a hatori pipe , im sure there must be some around ? , may be worth to try the new pipe RC japan is selling , or else a MP7

Lets keep it specific to our model nitro 2 stroke motors. A nitro motor running too rich or too lean with the best pipe in the world will perform poorly. That's the point I was making.60% of the time, it works every time!

lol, its very specific to our 2 stroke motors , I hear exactly what you say , tuning is important , but believe me you will gain or loose 20% of your torque by using the wrong exhaust

Hatori pipe has 20% more power over a powerboost pipe?
If true, Hatori would still be making them, and nobody would have a powerboost...

no not at all , What im saying is a decent tuned pipe like a hatori will give you about 20% more power than a std rc motor exhaust that you find on planes

my experience with hatori is the motor has more torque and does not bog as easily as with a power boost pipe

sorry for confusing you

What I've found with the os powerboost pipe is it sounds the same even when it's bogging so it's quite hard to tune on sound alone.60% of the time, it works every time!
