I havent been flying cause I feel electric/fbl took all the magic away for me. Hard to justify paying premiums they want now just to fly nitro and a variety of flybar heads are non existent. Any jack wagon can make a flybarless head. I mean airframes are so simple they are boring to me. Electric has power but is missing the sound and presence. Starting up a nitro engine has a satisfaction in and of itself that just intoxicated me into awe.

Seeing a awesome smoke trail as you execute big air moves is very satifying as well. Love hearing the nitro motor load up and unload and gives a really nice feel doing 3D, feels so natural just likea flybar. Im a very mechanical guy, so flybars and engines just hit my buttons.

Its like the whole electric car movement is going to destroy the performance car world for those who care more about numbers than the experience of it all. The Tesla is ridiculously fast but will never viscerally compare to a rumbling performance engine screaming at full throttle and full body, mind and soul engagement as you shift gears.

I got to take a ride in a Tesla P90D recently and it was the most boring 0-60mph in 3 seconds Ive ever experienced. Future generations will be missing out, but wont know it cause they will have never experienced such a thing, sad.

Yup, still flying helicopters
I started flying helicopters in 1989 with a Concept 30DX. Still flying a few times a week but my rc hobby has taken a back seat to competitive pistol/rifle shooting and autocrossing. All I have now are an ancient Ikarus Eco 8, a Blade 180CFX and a Blade 360CFX. Keeping the models small so that I can fly 3D in my 1/2 acre yard. The only quad I own is a Nano QX FPV that I fly in my house when the weather acts up. I also have a 3D Foamie airplane that gets abused every once in a while.

I've been waiting for a Concept 30DX, an Xcell 60ST, a Fury Extreme and a Hornet to pop up for sale locally. Just for old time's sake.

There is a Cricket for sale on craigslist near me but he wants $450 for it! If it drops down to $75-100 I might pick it up. It looks very dusty and crusty in the pictures.

Reliving my youth, The first heli I ever flew back in 1976 was a Micro Mold Lark. I was only 13 then and the machine wasn't mine but belonged to a good friend of my Father who knew I was into RC Models.

I bought this one on 25/11/2015 as a near total wreck. Restoration is almost finished now and she will be flying again within the next few weeks, weather permitting of course.
