Align TREX kit is now selling with Microbeast gyro.
Interesting, is it a sign they know their gyro cannot compete with with other gyros on the market ?

Align trying to stay competitive. Align has kind of faded with really no new models to speak of. After all, the Align fbl units never were very good. I'm sure I'll take some flack because of that, but in essence it's true. I never used one, but I attempted to setup a 3gx. And finding it still relied on the tx to do the mixing, it clearly was not like other fbl manufacturers. I always thought that was a bit strange to keep the mixing in the tx when no one else did that.

The 3GX with V5.0 software is a pretty good FBL controller, easy to set up, and flies well. The GPro is even better, pretty much all setup is in the controller itself and when you have the bluetooth adapter, field adjustments are simple.

Align has been shipping kits with the microbeast for some time, now.

It is odd that someone with no experience with a particular controller, who only tried to set one up once can speak with authority on the 3GX. I flew a dozen different helis ranging in size from 250 to 700, electric and nitro, for several years, going back to V2.1 software.

I now have about 8 GPros installed with some remaining 3GX units still installed.

It's not odd. And I didn't speak with authority. There are lots of threads about 3gx problems. I was just going by reports. It was only an opinion. As with everything, anyone says.

Everyone has their favorite fbl. Yours is obviously the 3gx and align series. That's great. That's what YOU like, and that is your opinion. I personally like vbar. Others like beastx.

But I don't think Align's fbl units have ever rated very highly in the market, at least judging by resale value. Mind you, I did say "think" so again, not stating with "authority".

I found the majority of the "problem" reports were unfounded. Most, if not all, were the result of not supplying the unit with an adequate power source.

I took advantage of the problem reports being able to buy them for about $50 each, most new in the box.

I admit that I have had difficulty with Align Gyros in the past. I had difficulty setting up a 3Gx unit. I did not follow or understand what was requested of me. I struggled, now they are not difficult.

Just because I had difficulty, it was NOT the FBL unit's fault. I needed to take the time to read and understand. Same with radios and any other electrical devices.

Align has implemented the Microbeast Plus as the GPro hardware does not have a self leveling capability.

With the decline in the heli market, it simply isn't worth the time and R&D to develop a new FBL unit to compete with the V-Bar Neo, MicroBeast Plus, and other FBL units with self leveling.
