I'm a Vbar guy for many years, but I'm trying out the Demon 3X unit. I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions for baseline scale settings. I'll be flying it in a giant scale Huey 212 7'4" long with a head speed of 850-900 RPM, 1050mm mains. Any help would be appreciated.

Barry,

The stock settings worked well for me and the two test flights I did with Airwolf (on a VERY windy and gusty day I might add). Just set the Tail Gyro to 401 (2M) and the Rigid Tab to >2.2M. I left both tail gain and rigid gain at the stock settings for the first two flights. The stocks settings were a darn good baseline for me.

demon settings
Start your head gain at 50 and gyro setting at50. I chose the 401 as my gyro default. I hv a Roban 700 4 bladed and I took off my head to and used an Align swashplate level to make it perfect.i would put the control rods to the nearest inside hole of the servo horn for scales. Dont forget to write(save) each tab before going to next tab. each If you follow the wizard step by step it will be easy.fyi..set your expo at around -25 if u hv a futaba 14SGH. I ended up with -35 on both Ail and ELE, -10 on tail and 75 dual rates on AIL & ELE. If setting up at 5.5 degrees mid stick...u hv to play with your pitch curves. I was so itimidating to me but it worked the 1st time for me. Just triple check every thing. Also...seasick on youtube helped me out. Type in Hc3x and seasick and he walks you thru each tab. Good luck.

"How high do they go? Are those things hard too fly? How much do they cost?

Hey guys, thanks for all of the input/info, much appreciated. I'll be setting this up on my low head speed Rex600 test mule with 3 blade head, just to get used to the set up and adjustments, then I'll move it into a bigger heli like my 1/4 scale R22, then the big 212. I hope to have the rex ready to fly by this weekend...

Finally got a chance to install the demon in my test mule. Flew great right out of the box! The electronic phasing worked perfectly and the heli flew spot on, amazing unit!! I may have to run Demons in all of my helis from here on out...
