Hello all,

I just purchased a lynx LX0652 sidecut 12t pinion gear for my blade 450 X. The lynx website made it seem pretty clear that it would fit 440 Eflight motor. The pinion gear fits fine and the set screw will lock to the shaft. However the pinion gear has a regular diameter hole at the top where the chaft enters and the immediately becomes a smaller diameter hole that will not allow the shaft to go any further. Does anyone know if this is how the pinion is supposed to fit? If so do I need to use a spacer to lift the motor on the mount to get my gears to align verticaly? This would be helpful for my center of gravity but it seems wrong to have half the pinion gear not on the shaft. I believe this is how the pinion was designed it also seems odd to have a .38 inch gap between the motor and top of pinion. Another option would be to cut the motor shaft and use washers as spacers

Please help if you know what im talking about.

Although I can't find any conversations about this topic online I resolved the problem by cutting the motor shaft with my dremel. There was just enough space for the pinion to fit on the shaft when I did my calculations and it is running fine
