It's not impossible to do , you just have to move up rather than be stubborn and stick with the dinosaurs.
sad but true... his biggest problem is going to be unloading all that obsolete stuff that has sat for years...but if he is to adapt and go "drone"...he is rather late to the party...And if he cant pay his bills, he cant buy the hot stuff.

...besides, he doesn't have anything in stock I want anymore.

More than that : Did you recognize the mindset of SOCIALISM ?

What we are turning into as a Culture ? No Independence or Privacy ?

Actually that is the Defeat of the 4th amendment - A Civil Liberty and the Mind set is Nation Wide. Entitled to Know some one Else's Business.
It's a Contagion and Spreading - The Busi Body

His Business is NOW the business of the Socialist: WHO just NEED's to KNOW

WHY ?? Bad as the DRONE ISSUE : Your Privacy is MY Information.

When one can make it his business - to stick his business - " Nose " ; - INTO someones Else's Business? It's NOT - or None of HIS Business.

Keep HIS Nose out of it !.

TELL EM : NONE of THEIR BUSINESS !

Lund is absolutely Top Shelf - It is HIS Business : He can do with it what ever HE want's :

YOUR - FIRED !

WTF!!!... People can be so Cruel!..
I tried once to run a business in Austin, doing small industrial controls... It failed, and part of the reason was that I was too nice....I was not honest with myself, nor was I honest with the way my competitors would see me and way too honest (nice) with the bank... Of the few contracts I did manage to land, none of my customers were "being nice", they were taking advantage of me and I made enough on a project to break even most of the time. I should have billed every single time I went out on a service call but didnt, just to be nice and hopefully drum up more business...it never did.

with fads like RC helis...There is nothing nice about consumer retail...its harsh and unforgiving... its all about the sale and the bank, the only thing they care about is cash flow.
Lund is absolutely Top Shelf - It is HIS Business : He can do with it what ever HE want's
the problem is that there is Nothing left on the top shelves... and yes he can do whatever he wants with it... another hobby store will pick up the customer base should he go under... The outstanding service he gave is the only thing we will loose.

innovate, evolve and adapt... or die... the mantra of any successful business

Business do NOT Fail because you are too NICE - That is Service !

That is a EXCUSE for Something other than Nice Pooched - Things like no product or application knowledge - or how to do a application work around.

It is History / Honesty / Track Record / Getting the Customer Out of a JAM -Or gong Biblical - The Tap : Going the Extra Mile to help carry their load. Family / Health / The sweet things

Customers are LOYAL - Even if you stub your toe ! Just let's figure it out. WE BOTH MAKE BANK !!!! $$$ WE can make this !!! Just don't tell em. Crazy Darn Funn TOO : EXCLUSIVENESS - We Want THAT GUY !!! He's Nuttier than a MAD Hatter - THE Innovator

As Business - Their Relationship to You as a Business Owner - Their appreciation for YOU - Your Service - THEY ARE LOYAL

THEY COME RUNNING - Moma Need Shoe's ??? Baby Sick ? Wha kinda Help ??

ALSO KNOW - A good businessman - will take a order sidewise - from his competitor " BOTH " to HELP a Customer in a BAD Jam. Normal

ALSO KNOW - Their are Customers " So -called " that Want FREE SERVICE - But are Never Customers - They TAKE your knowledge and go to the lowest contractor " With Out " Yur knowledge " .

We LOVE Those PHONE calls : Call them the Squirt Squirt

Are YOU a Customer - or FREE SERVICE - Hey -Ah - your Bank say's you don't pay ! FREE !!!

Great customer service and product support go hand in hand. But lack of diversity and the refusal to adapt to what is marketable , what is making money, will end your business fast, no matter how long you have been holding onto products that dont sell.

The $$$ becomes a pain in the Butt. Then the problem of getting out of the Enchilada -

Go GOLFING - Sit On the Beach - GEt a crazy Haircut -

Nothing funner than going into the shop with your house coat on and flip flops - & DON"T ANSWER THE PHONE

Rather than this speculation....

Why doesn't anyone simply call Ron and ask what the situation is?

call Ron

See Dr. B's post.

I can't tell if the OPs of these threads are trying to help or hurt the situation.

As an OP in another closely related thread im just expressing my concerns and ideas. if I and others would have not said anything, would have some of you bought stuff when you did if you had not known ?

for me, I hope he finds a way to revitalize his business, it was nice having a shop that shipped as fast as he did and provided for such a niche market. but just because I and a few hundred other RR memebrs think helis are cool does not mean that a business nowadays selling only them is viable anymore.
But lack of diversity and the refusal to adapt to what is marketable , what is making money, will end your business fast
exactly... and being nice and doing business do not go hand in hand like peanut butter and jelly. Loyalty goes out the door if they dont have what you want, need, or can afford.

the market will shrink and only the strong will survive, and the strong will be some combination of affordability, availability and durability

run a business today with the attitude that the customer is always right and you will be shutting that puppy down in no time.

I am pretty sure Ron is retiring. He put a post on his website thanking everyone for the great years, but it was time for him to have a life again.

If this is the case, I wish him the best. He was and still is a great person to deal with.

I am sure he will be around somewhere, not just 9 to 5pm.

Yes, my family was into motocross, dirtbikes, and a few other hobbies. I would love to ride 4 wheelers with the family again, but the cost of the quads have gone through the roof almost making it impossible for a family to be involved in the sport any more.

I am managing to stay in Heli's, but you have to be watchful and spend wisely.

I saw this coming. I hate it for us and certainly for Ron. We owe him a ton of thanks though for buying back HeliProz South or whatever they called it when he sold his business the first time. We would have lost him that many years ago had he not stepped back in.

I collected spare parts for years to come (I think? lol). My Thunder Tiger Raptors 50, 60 and 90's soldier on.
