JR FORZA 550
Well, so far there are a few new products being released at Nuremberg. It looks like there is a new high quality 550 getting ready to hit the market. JR is releasing a FORZA 550.

Nice. What's that feature in picture 4? It looks like an aluminum lever just under the slant cut gear.

I must be the only one who doesn't like it.

It looks like almost every other heli available at the moment.

I own four JR helicopters and love them, this certainly won't be added to that list.

I have those servo arms on some other JR servos I own. They are sweet and make setup very easy.

You're not the only one.

I agree it's about time sick and tired of removing the canopy every flight.
On my nitro I remove the canopy twice, once to plug in battery and 8 flights later to recharge battery.

after looking closer it is not something that interests me aside from the rear exit battery tray

It does look almost exactly like my Forza700 and a lot of other machines on the market, but it's not about looks...it's about performance and the Forza line so has impressed me so far in performance and quality.

I will probably buy this one to replace my Trex 550. I never really like how much the frame flexed even though it's been a pretty good heli.

I like and REALLY appreciate the fact that Jr is putting something new out. We need more choices in this hobby.

Like it or hate it, be happy someone is working on new stuff. The goblin parade has gotten old....

Doesn't look like it on this heli. You'd have to pull the canopy anyway to access the battery connector with the ESC all the way forward on the front of the frame.

Edit - I was interested until I saw the DFC style head.

Pass.

Still interested in a Forza 700 though.

Great that there is something new from JR but to me its looks a little disproportionate. The canopy looks a little too large almost like the 700 canopy on a smaller 550 frame. Maybe the low rotorhead is throwing me off cause Ive never really been the biggest fan of that trend.

From what I have read it looks like you can use 6s or 12s setups. I personally like 550 models on 6s, so I will be running a 6s system when I can get the new FORZA 550.

For all those who say "there is nothing new about this helicopter that makes me want to buy it," what EXACTLY would you like to see in a 550 that would constitute a MUST buy?

I for one, do not like the design of the E6.
It is too small, and a little complex for what it's worth.
I own it, I fly it, but I WILL consider the Forza 550 because it is simpler, looks really strong, and has a few convenience factors that make it a nice design in my book.

The helicopter sector population of the hobby market is sliding downhill fast. We are lucky to see manufacturers come up with new feature sets and improvements to the lineup.

I was hoping to see that 3 blade technology would amp up the hobby, but it has failed to really take root.

I am really interested to hear what others think would be the next generation of performance enhancing features in a helicopter.....
