Seems JR will going to release new 550 size Forza. Standard servos and same Forza 700 structure. Very interesting. Looking forward to seeing Forza 550 speed

I just picked up a Forza 700, but I have to admit the 550 looks every bit as good as her bigger hangar mate. I'm kind of big on looks and these are the first ones in a very long time (other than the Avant Aurora) that really hit me as being beautiful, functional and cool all at the same time.

This hobby is truly having the plug pulled on its life support. I started with the JR Voyager E back when it was new and have always been a fan of JR Propo. I was really looking forward to this helicopter and to see it not even make the light of day is very upsetting.

To cut a long story short it was announced on a Facebook post yesterday (by someone with direct inside access to JR)that JR are outsourcing production and will no longer be developing new models. They will be focussing on commercial/industrial helicopter development.

So now for my rant (also posted on another similar forum).

I dont really want to get into the blame game but this hobbies un-quenchable thirst for better and newer is its own poison. We have seen a large number of people come into this hobby only to eventually leave again when they became bored and needed the next new thing. This puts enormous pressure on manufacturers in what is really a botique industry. And what is the obvious result when they all move on...

I believe FBL and electric have been great advacements on one hand, whilst supporting partially interested short attention spans on the other. They have unfortunately allowed people into the hobby who would have otherwise previously not bothered due to the amount of effort and learning required.

I also believe 3d has been a mixed blessing helping to improve models become the reliable machines they are today but also attracting the very people who soon get bored and disappear forever.

I cant help to look back with love at the great times when the hobby was full of Ergo's, Vigor's, Vibe's, Freya's, Sceadu's, Fury's, Futura's, Millennium's and, well ok maybe the odd Raptor. The only ones complaining then were the hardcore 3d wanna be's who would flog the crap out of their models and wonder why things failed.

As a final word I would like to give a middle finger to the drones/multi-copters. Some of us are just in awe of the conventional helicopter. The drone is not a replacement or natural progression from model helicopters. Drones are another hobby altogether. Nothing annoys me more than friends assuming due to my obsession for helicopters that I must have an equal excitement for multi-copters. No I don't.

I was waiting for this model, too.

If they think the hobby customers are too tough, they are DOOMED in the commercial market. NO customer will invest in high-end equipment for the long term from a company that does business like this.......sad.

Well said. I have no issue with drones either. But the platform is so different.
I'm certainly sad to hear about JR. The premier radio manufacturer for our models may be disappearing. Not to mention all the fine helicopter kits they produced. I currently own 3 Vibe 50 Heli's ready to fly plus a new in box kit. The nicest 50 size builds I've ever had. I plan to keep flying them as long as parts are available on the net, then retire them to the "memories" section of the shop.

Not Disappearing!!
JR is not putting new heli's into production, and will have parts support for the existing line...
JR Propo is not going away... the Best radios will continue to be available for a long time...and might even pick up some improvements from the commercial sector
So keep on flying those JR birds!!!

I was waiting to replace my aging Trex550 with this beautiful machine.

Is there any possibility they might still release this heli?

Even if they do a limited release, they have at least one guaranteed buyer.

JR, I want this heli!
