My longest serving set of servos are the ones that came in my TOW Defender chassis (former Logo 5003D) which are now going to be residing in an MH-6 "Little Bird". They are Futaba BL451's and the tail servo (Futaba S9254) is now going into my second Heli-Baby. The tail servo in my MH-6 will be an Align DS620 for two reasons. One, it is not being used in anything else at the moment, and two, it has a lot more torque than the DS650 and I need that on the MH-6 to help counteract the torque of the 5 blade head. The Futaba's are close to 9 years old now and are still going strong and the DS620 is brand new stock that I have had for 4 years.

The next oldest are the Align stock servos (DS610's) that were in my CH-139 and now reside in my first Heli-Baby. They are around 5 years old now and not a whimper. I have another set of Align DS610 servos that are in the chassis that will be my 700 size Jet Ranger. I also have two complete sets of Spektrum H6030's, one set in my newest Logo 5003D and the other will be the cyclic servos in my second Heli-Baby. That helicopter will have another Futaba S9254 that has got to be more than 8 years old and still perfect. I have one last helicopter to outfit but I am not fussy about which it will be. Hope this helps.

In my 3 larger helis, I have 9x BLS252 on cyclic, and 1x BLS254 and 2x BLS451 on the tails. I have a BLS451 on the tail of my little 500 sized UH-1N as well.

None have missed a beat so far. The oldest would have first flown in 2011 I think.

I tend to think of it in how many hours they have run rather than how long they have been in the machine..

In my original predator turbine over 200 hrs on 9206 analogue with a 9254 tail servo..

On my Longranger before fire it had JR D8711 and on tail Futaba 9351 with a 401 gyro.. very stable and reliable done over 100 hrs.

I found on the servos I used they all had a sacrificial plastic gear which can be easily replaced after a few seasons depending on the hours I flew.

All of these servos have been replaced over the years..

On my current Predator ( rebuilt after fire) I am using high voltage servos..

I know your flying FBL which adds extra load on the servos, but the modern servos are well up to the job.

I've been very happy using the Savox servos on my big stuff. Lots of torque and great survivability!!!

KST DS725MG... only for me.

"How high do they go? Are those things hard too fly? How much do they cost?
