I still fly nitro however the price of fuel have regulated them to scrap heap. Another factor is the maintenance involved compared to electrics.

While I agree - we do need some new nitro helis, I would change that to say we need some nitro helis. With Thunder Tiger dropping its line of glow helicopters, Miniature Air out of business, Robi, Kyosho, and Hirobo only on the fringes, etc, etc - I think it is fair to say that ANY nitro would be welcome.

Matt and Amy are do super work at Synergy but some choices would be nice.

Yea. We need some new nitro helis.

New Nitro Heli
China is literally creating a market for their batteries and electronics. We all need to support nitro helicopters to the fullest.

Did anyone here read my new post? It is about an .18 size nitro that looks extremely interesting, and is even capable of 3D, or whatever you would like to call it. If you look at the photos of this thing, it looks as good as anything out there. Of course the fuel savings would be spectacular, and it should fly for at least 20 minute I would guess.

The other advantage is the fact it can be flown in a smaller space, and carried in a small compact car. I see it advertised in kit form for $279, with engine and muffler, and in ready to fly with everything except fuel, and batteries for the tx, for $550. For the rtf price you get the heli with all electronics installed and test flown,an AT9 tx, a rechargeable electric starter, receiver battery and charger, a mechanical fuel pump, a glow plug ignitor and charger, and some small tools and a training gear. It also comes in an attractive aluminum carry case for the heli, and tx. In addition parts are available.

Do an online search, for Global Eagle Global Hawk 480 nitro helicopter, and you will find info. You tube is another place to look for it.

MA is not out of business. They're shipping parts and new models apparently coming too.

Evolution Helicopters (ex-Alees) also announced their new nitro - Katana

I suppose this is the helicopter you are referring to? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Global-Eagl...d-/251774482583

Yes. You are correct. They are back in business. That wasn't fair of me to say that. Still. You can't buy a MA heli and I can't buy any parts for the 4 MA helis I already own. For the purposes of this thread, they are not a big player in the glow heli market - yet.

There are several of the nitro flying. At least two are from Global Eagle. Yes they do have a 480 electric, and a 450,+ a 250 drone. If you continue searching you will find the nitro vids.

http://www.gleaglemodel.com/home.asp try this as they have vids on their website.

Yes, that is the helicopter, but it can be had cheaper elsewhere.

Also if you want MA parts and kits you can order direct from Germany and they will fill your order. Josef, the owner just responded to my email about parts and told me that I could place an order for what I need, and it will get shipped. We need to support them if we want to continue flying our MA helicopters. In the very near future, we will need to purchase most everything direct from the MFG, not just MA.

New Nitro helicopters
Evolution Helicopters is a case in point about ordering direct from the mfg. This company states it cannot at this time afford to support a world wide dealer network. Their new Katana looks awesome for sure. However it will probably not be cheap.

New nitro models
I would like to see more choices for 600's and smaller.
I want a 30 size with a hyper 50 in it.
I also like the nx4 stretched out to 470's
A 360 size nitro sounds like it would be fun.

As for nitro being a pain in butt, It depends on the user
with experience trouble shooting is quick and easy.

I just bough a case of 30% yesterday and try to support the LHS which happens to be " great hobbies ".
I plan on buying a new 55hz this season and rebuild the current 55 I have.
I have electrics but they just aren't as fun I use them more for practising for when I get to a nice field.

And if nitro should happen to die I will have learn 2 new skills. machining for engine parts and chemistry for making fuel

spending time, paying attention
