i'm thinking about trying the governor in the cgy750 , according to the manual I need to have a revolution sensor , which I thought was for nitro's, my hobbywing esc has a separate wire that has a phase sensor function , can I use this in place of the revo sensor ?
if not then what do I use instead

Yes, you can use that as long as it's output voltage isn't too high. The RPM sensor input has a limit of 3V.

If the HW esc phase sensor voltage is too high, you can use their stand alone sensor. Make sure before you plug, because overvolting the sensor port will fry the whole 750.

Specification for interface signals: It is the periodic signal with duty ratio of 17%, and 0V for low level, 3.3V for high level.

I would think that's ok, but I cannot speak from first hand experience. If the spec is the same as their independent sensor, then it will be fine.

ps, is it possible to have the cgy initialize wrong, this morning i had 2 flights first one was good , second one i had to hold a little bit of forward elevator to stop it drifting backwards , actually it was a bit more than drifting , i really should have landed and unplugged the battery but i didn't ,

every other governor that i have used , has used flat throttle curves , i.e. flat 30 ,flat 70 and flat 100, to tell the gov which iu to use , this one D.Chekas in his video says to us a u shaped throttle curve(100,68,62,68,100) and a modified linear curve for normal. why? i think i understand the normal curve , it for spooling up and once the gov takes over , after 30% i believe , then i can flip into iu1 and 2, but why the u shape for iu1 and 2?

well it did appear to work , very well actually , but , abd there's always a but, I only have 1 headspeed , in my transmitter everything works as it should ,hold,normal,iu1 and iu2, in the cgy there is only 1 and 3 , I think hold is 1 and iu2 is 3 , I must have missed something in the cgy setup ,any ideas?

It's there in case something fails with the governor. The system reverts to the throttle curve if the governor drops out.

i'm having a small issue with the gov settings , in the manual it shows the three different headspeeds selectable with a switch and 1,2 & 3 in the top right hand corner of the cgy screen, I have my throttle curves assigned to sc and it all appears to work as it should , in the transmitter , however in the cgy #1 is throttle hold nd #3 is iu2, the numbers do change with the switch but # 2 isn't there , is this how its supposed to be or do I have something set wrong , iu1 is 2350 and iu2 is 2450 but I couldn't detect a change in the tone of the motor when I went from iu1 to iu2 . have I missed something?

I have a theoretical question, if I were to have my switch so that when I flipped into iu1 , iu2 was also active would that stop the governor from working, for instance if I accidentally set the 3 position switch to off, off,on for both iu1 and iu2 would that be enough to confuse the cgy's governor

one more question, is the gov gain tied to each of my throttle curves or is it a blanket gain for all, for example if I fly mostly in iu1 and get the gain correct there , will the gain be the same for iu2 , which could be too much gain as it would be a higher headspeed , or can I adjust the gain for each iu?

tried again this morning , I made the iu's 200 rpm different so that I could hear the difference and it was there so that's good, the gain I'm still not sure about as I have to be in throttle hold to adjust it , so I got it down to 6% before the tail twitching and noises went away , I'm assuming that the gain is global as it did make a difference , seems to be good , is 6% ok it seems to be holding and sounds good it just seems low

I believe that I'm at either 4 or 6 gov gain on my 700.
