Well, I started working on my Roban EC-655...it's pretty big. It is my first electric scale and it has been a joyful experience. I'm use to Nitro (which still have some) and gassers but this was a different animal in regards to formula...reminded me of college.lol. A shout out goes to Colin... a true ambassador of this great hobby! Thanks!
The final paint scheme will be that of Spain's EC-665.

My setup:

KDE 455KV motor
CC120 Edge w/ CC PAK- governed at 90%
Helicommand-HC3X Base- I love this unit!
12S- 5300mah-30C
CC BEC 20A for Receiver (7.4V-3000mah lipo)
Futaba 14SGH-

...No, I don't have it set up to do 3D but the real ones can to "back flips".

Thanks Colin and for all of your help...couldn't have done it with you man.

As Emile point out... it comes with it own mechanics (SM2.0 Mech), but I had to construct a homemade "Frankenstein" set up in order to test fly the mechanics. The Gens Ace battery pack in the front was used for front ballast. It was ugly but it worked.

Well... I tested everything about 2 weeks ago and its' solid...-10 exp in the Rudder...Bam its where I want it.

So, I've drilled the holes for the accessories and prepping to paint them separate. Most Roban fuses tail sections have two parts and its held on with screws which irritated me on how it looked and seeing that seam. So joined the halves with my trusty West System Exopy (what they use for boat hulls) and joined the halves together. Then added body filler and sanded her down. The next step sand her down, prime her and paint. Hopefully my Callie-Graphics will come this week.

Hey Wemo,

I have been flying the Roban Eurocopter Tiger now for two years. It is definitely an attention getter at the flying field, and you will enjoy the way it flies. Just one questions, since you have permanently joined the rear and forward sections of the fuse, can you still remove the mechanics for maintenance? Just curious as I have had to remove the Trex 600 guts from my machine a couple of times to replace gears. Perhaps the mechanics supplied with your machine are more robust than what I'm using. Anyway, good luck with yours.

Yes! There is no difference as if you had the tail joined to the fuse with the screws. Please note: I can't speak on the TREX mechanics in regards to ease of removal; however, the Roban mechanics I'm using slide in & out with no problems at all.

...thanks Adam.

They are GI. Joe 1/6 scale...technically they are too big because they measure @ 12"...thank goodness for the dremel. The perfect scale would measure at 8" tall but I couldn't find any in full pilot gear...so these have to do for now.

Hey guys
Just reading this thread tonight, trying to find out more about the Roban EC-655 Tiger. I'm really pumped up on this Heli and would like to know what you guys thing about it. Good or bad!
I am currently building the 700 size RCA AS350 and looking to the EC-665 Tiger for my next build.

I really like the superscale 700 mechanics that is offered by http://www.scaleflying.DE in Germany rather the 600 Chaos mechanics that are offered by RCA here in the states for 12s operation.

What are your thoughts?

Regards, Jim
