Got the main instrument panel printed.
Still have lots of work to do to clean up the prints, get pics of the gages attached, and do the pedals.

Man how did we ever do this before 3d printers? I have a few also and they are instrumental in keeping older stuff flying, and scale stuff looking extra good. Awesome work! Post more pics!

Starting the application of the rivit's. The strips have a self adhesive back, so after locating them, I dab white glue on each exposed hole, then pull the strip up which leaves a dot for each rivit. A mind numbing process but the results are really good. Spacing and size look great.

Decided to change my CH47D Chinook to a CH47F variant. Requires a different instrument layout and some other minor changes. The final color will be the light tan that most of the Iraq and Afghanistan Chinooks have. Will definitely be easier to see when flying. That olive drab is really hard to see on some days.

Did you make the strips for the rivets or buy them?
Thanks

I bought them from: http://www.cwvmodels.com/
You tell Chad what hole diameter and spacing. I had a small sample template made to confirm my process, and what the templates will give me, before I ordered a bunch. He is a great guy to work with.

Your skills are out of this world !!!
Wish I had jumped in sooner to see if I could have provided some help. I have a laser cutter that can cut thin wood, plastics up to 1/4 inch, and paper very accurately. The rivet strips would have been very easy to make for you.
Any thing else you need in acrylics, wood, or paper, let me know.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

Thanks for the link chinooker!!

My B model huey is down to detailing and painting so it can be ready for Dalton. .

I then will begin working on this 1:6 D model given to me by a buddy and don’t want to think how many rivets it will take so those strips will help a lot. Thanks again!!
