I would think just the extra cost in shipping would be all you would notice.

You are taking a risk... it will cost a lot to chase a bad deal. I try to stay closer to home on private transactions.

I did a deal with someone in the United Emirates and he paid the shipping and there were no charges to me. I checked with Paypal before I made the purchased ($3000) and they said that I was covered if there was a problem. Fortunately, there was no problem and the item arrived as described.

risky.... I normally go through fee bay for stuff like that and use paypal... at least that way your somewhat protected scam wise.

showing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...

Like RM3 stated, at least going through the Bay you will have more recourse if the deal goes south. I recently took a transaction outside of feebay at the sellers request (I know what the f#@$ was I thinking) to save a few bucks on both our ends. Long story short, when I received the beat up item described as new I contacted the seller to no avail. I then filed a paypal claim but they sided with the seller as they no longer could see his original ad- only our few emails I had saved. Just be careful and trust your gut.
