FAA registration, while encouraged, is not a requirement by the insurance company and until it becomes so, would not be used as a basis to deny coverage.
All someone had to do was suggest the contrary and I think this could be a problem.

If you had an injury / fatality with your model, and weren't registered, and the figure was getting lots of zeroes, I think AMA wouldn't touch you with a ten foot pole.

And then there three pages about what the Safety Officer CANNOT DO. In fact as the safety officer at our club, in four years, I cannot find anything that I am allowed to do!

It is pretty darn clear what this says.
What does it say?

Regarding the second post in this thread (my post) .............
My club (Southern Eagle Squadron) has done an about face regarding this whole registration issue....They WILL NOT be "requiring" their members to register with the FAA and they will NOT be policing compliance with the FAA regs......

I'm sure the info below has already been stated but I'm too lazy to read multiple pages to see so ignore it if it's "old news"....

I also saw a recent FAQ's video from the AMA whereby it is clearly stated that AMA coverage WILL NOT be contingent on FAA registration and that the AMA will not be policing compliance with the FAA regs.....
Been there, done that and old enough to know better.....
