My Standard Answer
Anybody ever asks me at the field, a fun fly, a contest, anywhere I fly, "How high is it or how high will it go?" 399'. PERIOD.
I DGAF if it is touching the clouds or I'm squinting so hard to see it, IT'S 399', LET THEM PROVE OTHERWISE.

Anyone that has a brain in their head could fly a payload of jelly beans and drop them anywhere they wanted without issue. The window of opportunity had been missed with all this registration BS. The Fed's could have done something but that time has passed. Registration won't work and geofencing can be defeated with a $50 dollar CC3D, with OSD module and GPS module. There is no way that DJI can fence that in. The Government is always a day late and a dollar short. The article states the obvious.Part 107.
The only ZERO flight hour certificate in the world.
It's like getting a driver's license without the driver's test.

My crazy rant

Theres a simple solution to this... just F*&k the ama and F*&&k the faa... dont sign up or pay memberships, just dont use them go do what you want and when they start noticing all the lack of renewals they'll get their heads out of their asses and do something to get all that money back... how many members the ama have now? multiplied by 50-60 bucks... ya thats a lot of moolah...

Most of you have common sense and can operate your models within reason and know not to fly in the city limits, over people etc.etc...

You dont need ama to fly on your own or private property, theyre just an insurance carrier basically for when an accident does happen and i believe it defaults to your home owners insurance first as i recall. Frankly they are doing a lousy job right now defending modelers with this whole faa crap thanks to the market flood of cheap quad copters and joe dirt mentality operators...

its getting to the point you cant do jack **** in this country anymore and pretty soon we're going to need licenses to operate your charcoal barbecue grill due to the carbon footprint it emits. Whats that, your pedestrian license only covers you in your home district, not this one so i have to fine you.. Oh you drove your car 24.6 miles today and emitted 1/2 ton carbons to the atmosphere, your only allowed .25 a day... I have to fine you for that too.... the govt is in absolutely every fking thing we do anymore...

You laugh but its all coming. They (UN) already agreed at that climate conference, when that paris shooting happened, to form a climate change regulation for all nations which means our govt will create yet another big agency, which means all new vehicles, aircraft, employees with fat paychecks and pensions, office equipment, special equipment, special ops **** that we'll never know bout, fuel costs, maintenance costs, storage costs, annual bs conferences, travel for said conferences just so they can FINE youuuu for your carbon output on something they dont know anything about or have any idea how they can regulate yet...

Its time to just take action... and i say no more membership fees till you show me you have modelers best interest going forward...

Flame away folks, i dont give a rats a$$ anymore
