Setting up Trex 500 for Scale Fuse Application with 4 Bladed Head
Hi All

This is my first attempt at setting one of these up with a T10CP.
I bought the gyro second hand and it is running on V1.31 which I have heard for scale is ideal.

The thing I have found is when I tilt the heli forward or backwards or right and left without stick input the swash follows the movement of the heli rather than stay still is this correct ?

Thanks

Matt

Matt,

No, that is not the correct behavior. When the cyclic gyros are in AVCS mode you should observe the swash remaining "level" to the horizon or countering the movement of the mechanics when tilted.

Might i suggest updating to the recently released v2.0 firmware? Even for scale. The setup, tuning, and adjustment scheme is much easier to understand and get right. I think you would be pleased with the performance as well. You will want to set up in "3D" mode to take advantage of the new stability features of the v2.0 firmware.

Daniel is correct. 2.0 surpasses 1.31 in every way regardless of flying style.

Has someone used it on a 1/4 scale heavy turbine machine with an 850 rpm head speed ?

The reason I ask and I mean no offence is all the PMS I have had about switching to v2 are all from stick bangers flying 700 sized machines in either F3C or 3D, no one has flown a heavy slow scale.

I will try it out on a cheaper machine before it goes onto an expensive scale.

thanks though for the recommendation

As you wish. Knowing what I do about the engineering of 2.0 would put me more at ease having it in a demanding application than any firmware to date. It's more forgiving of diversity of set up and application than 1.31 was or is.
