DMSS (RG831B) with Align Gpro
Hi,
I’m hoping someone has come across this before and can help.
I have an XG8 with latest software version 0001-0017
Receiver is RG831B (DMSS) with a connected RA01T.
I’ve been trying for days to establish a connection with an Align GPRO Flybarless system running their latest software version.
Receiver is getting power through the GPRO and is connected successfully to the Transmitter (if I plug servos directly into the Receiver they work).
I cannot establish a connection between the GPRO and the RG831B. I’ve tried everything I could think of.
I contacted Align for help and all I got was a response that they support all types of receivers.
I contacted JR and received the following response:

"Thank you for contacting JR Americas. I believe the Align GPro is XBus compatible, but make sure you have your transmitter in XBus B mode. If this does not work, we do sell an SXD adapter that works with any SBus compatible system."

So do I need to buy this SXD adapter or do I need to by an XBUS receiver. The RG831B is DMSS but not Xbus.

I hope someone can help.

Cheers

Well of course you need to get an XBus receiver - RG612BX, RG712BX, RG812X.

Yes four striker is right. You don't have an xbus reciever. I am not familiar with the gpro but if it will support all receivers you should be able to use individual wires for each channel and make that work too. Don't bind the reciever in xbus mode either with this reciever. The sxd adapter will not do you any good with this reciever I don't believeTeam Jr

Also new RG613BX. All receivers apparently means SBus or XBus (mode B). May also do Graupner or Multiplex stuff ?

Don't see anywhere to plug in individual channels.

Nope I screwed up. Those plugs with dots will do multiple RX channels as inputs. The instructions say XBus Mode A ! Surprise !

Thanks for the help guys.
What confused me was that before I purchased the Radio I contacted Align and asked them if DMSS alone with no Xbus is supported by GPRO and they replied with YES GPRO will work with only DMSS.
I tried all combinations including the standard connection method by connecting individual wires for each channel but that didn't work either.
I'll just order an XBUS receiver. Not many options from local hobby stores here in AUS, so will get one online.

Cheers and thanks for the help

I would suspect that you have to tell the Gpro through the USB/PC interface where to look for the inputs. Need a GPro guy now. I am sure it will work with your receiver and the 6 patch plugs plus power from somewhere.

have you managed to get it sorted I've been using a jr receiver with gpro, not xbus and it works fine. all servo wire's go into the gpro, then the other cables that come with the gpro go into receiver plus power cable, also if I'm right you have to set to gpro programme to conventional, can post pic's if you want

Hi Pitfall,
Yes exactly as you described it. The key was to set it up as conventional. But it only worked after I reset the transmitter back to factory settings and did the setup again. I must have stuffed it up while trying to sort out the issue

Cheers
