HELP with bad tail oscilation. Goblin.
Finally got everything up and running. Everything is free and smooth mechanically. Rail slider is butter. I bought heli from a guy who just built it and only had few flights. Im using bls256 on tail with mini vbar. Headspeed is 1800 n. And 2000 idl1. I get a bad tail and heli oscilation. Its a fast movement in a tight oscilation. Tried turning gov. Off. Tried raising and lowering head and tail gains. Nothing helps. Its on a goblin 570. I have a,380 and it flies perfect

What fbl unit are you useing? I have the same oscillation in a Trex550 I can not get rid of....I run Ar7200bx on all my fbl helis and are rock solid....except this one. I have checked every thing I can think of to get rid of it...now it down to swapping out the fbl unit to see if its that issue.Fly Hard......Team Viagra

Did you contact the seller? Normally people selling used merchandize equipment have a reason for doing so. I'm not saying that you got stiffed but it happens all the time. I speak from experience and maybe the seller will take it back.

Before you start headhunting find out if its the unit....dont start bashing the seller before you know it the unit thats bad. If u have another fbl unit swap it out and see if it goes away....could be a failing tail servo....have you swapped out the servo to eliminate the servo. Check your blades are balanced tail and mains. Once all setup is ok look at power to eletronics then the electronics them self. It will be in there somewhere.

Most of the time i find the problem its was a brain fart.

I don't have a 580, so I don't know if the idler pulley for the tail belt is the same arrangement as the 700 which I do have, but check that it is not binding in any way as the belt rides over it.

When I first built my 700, I had a similar tail oscillation on it and a friend suggested to adjust the control rod two or 3 turns shorter. I did that and it worked, so that might be something to try. I run a silverline full size Vbar on mine.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Is the oscillation side to side or up and down relative to the mainshaft?

1800 and 2000 seem a little slow on a 570 especially with real tight head dampening. Check the blade balance, mains and tails and then bump the HS to 2200 and see what it looks like.

That is really low headspeed for a 570 and would def wobble with normal dampening. Without seeing a vid of the oscillation its hard to help much. I'd raise the headspeed significantly first though and see if it smooths out.Art Hughes

Raised it to 2400 just oscilates faster. Using 3m tape that is new and already checked control rod
