I think that HAM example fits this situation perfectly. Federal license needed to use HAM bands or a rather large federal fine. You were in violation of the law while you were flying, so that makes it a pretty good example.

How many others in the club knew about this? I am pretty sure that you did not tell anyone.

BTW, I worked for a long time on code... never got the speed up to pass the test, but when they eliminated code, I got my ham license.

If the activity requires a license, I would think that the club is within their rights to demand proof of the license before allowing you to proceed with that activity.

I value a law/rule over anything the AMA has to say every day of the week, even if I don't agree with the law/rule. I think that the AMA should require the FAA license as part of the registration for AMA.

Remember... this whole is discussion is after the rule has been litigated and found to be properly founded.

Am I going to rat someone out? doubt it.

Hey in that video if they get the FAA to let our AMA number be their registration I think that the AMA is working on their behalf by getting every one to join the org. that is one way of getting new members.trex 700fbl cal30,minititan,, trx600fbl,trex250,logo 500,Velocity N2

So what is the dif?
336 is about the model a/c [no registration] & not the r/c player [being registered],
operation (1-5) has not been changed

Part 107.
The only ZERO flight hour certificate in the world.

btw; check my feedback
regarding rules; don't read anything into or out whatever is written, faa.gov's action is within #336

I don't like the registration requirement either. BUT, it gives me a nice legal card to show the police when they show up because my neighbor calls them when I fly. They have had to come out twice, and I live in the boonies, but they are always nice and have some interest in the equipment. Now the police can tell the dumb azz that he is fully compliant and has a FAA license.
By the way, that troublesome neighbor is at lest 2000 feet away, and I never fly near his property, see my house below and my FAA card.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

Fwiw...

I am trying to be ok with this...But it is unnecessary as we have the AMA, because most operators will have neither heard of the program or will choose to ignore it, operators tha do register will still do stupid things with drones, and because the CAA has an excellent descriptor of the difference between a "drone" and a model aircraft which our FAA could easily implement.

All the aforementioned being fact, my hope is that we can reason or litigate the FAA into submission on the distinction. Carrying that forward, we need exemptions from SFRA locations as well as the TFRs...
We need to organize from the viewpoint of the SJW crowd. If we do not fit the liberal definition of an "oppressed " class, I do not know who would.
Cloward and Piven, like a broken clock, are right twice a day.

Thanks to local farm
Wounded warriors had a wonderful fly outing yesterday due to a local farm outside the SFRA. Keeping it legal.

Let the FAA know we want to support but the SFRA restrictions in Washington have got to go. Every kid with a quad is not a threat to national security and they can be taught to fly so they are not a problem.

I asked about the SFRA today......FAA don't care......

After what I saw and heard today....The AMA needs to define what they will begin to do to get Congress to act. The government is now totalitarian.

AMA email / communication just came out - here is an excerpt:
We are continuing to explore all legal and political options available, but these conversations may take time and a definitive solution is unlikely before the February 19 registration deadline.
So - register by Feb 19 or be in violation of the FAA regs <used my limit of frowny face so I'll leave it off>
