I would probably RESET each of the gyro menus to defaults and start from scratch, since there are so many changes to each of the tuning parameters.

These CGY updates don't come often... so I always take this as an opportunity to start from scratch and re-learn the tuning characteristic of the new software.

I upgraded mine and all the servo and correction directions were the same , I didn't make any other changes to 1.4 as I had just put it on but I think that after changing from f3c to 3d all the other parameters are reset , test flew this and all was well

Go through a complete set up and check everything. It's really easy now. Don't take a chance with something that "appears" to be the same as it was before you updated.

Dr. Ben - few quick questions.
-Are the setup cyclic pitch recommendations (SWS.Rate) in the 2.0 manual a starting point? Or are they something that should be measured precisely and left at the specified deflection in the manual?
-Is it still recommended to adjust D/R (for pit/roll rate) and cyclic expo from the CGY? Or can we use TX adjustments as well?
The suggested throws are important to use. If there is any wobble in fast piros or walking on slow ones, the swash rate should be increased or decreased little until it piros cleanly (and it will).

It was never really suggested to set the expo in the 750. Use the transmitter. There is no dual rate in the 750 menu. You set the cyclic rate in the 750 for what the rotor system is capable of delivering and can fine tune or reduce for a given flight condition in the transmitter.

Is it not needed any more to trim the swasch?
i don't see ot in the manual, just see it for the rudder.

that's exactly what I did and can confirm that all the throws and correction directions were the same , might not be for everyone so definitely go through setup to double check , I did have to change the cyclic amount as I was still at 10 degrees now its at 7 ,

Correct.

No rate mode or trim flight for the cyclic gyros. Do a killer good mechanical/swash set up and 750 set up and go fly it.

Those of you with Goblins or other models that were pushed to get the 10D needed while staying at or below 70% in the swash rate will have a easier job because 2.0 does not need as much static pitch for most model sizes.

Do still try to stay in the 50-70% swash rate range when setting your cyclic pitch as as to preserve decent resolution. Go in a hole on the servo arm if needed.

Im in the slow process of switching all my VBARS to CGY ,, Each one is as easy as DR Ben says if your initial setup is good. Fly's so locked in with the 1.4 working on getting the 2.0 firmware downloaded.

Was lured in thinking the CGY750 is getting a V2 revamp both hardware and software wise
Loved my V1.4 but will get another 750 to try V2 firmware out.

Ben, 1.4 would give me a wobble that was hard to tune out in my scale heli. I went back to 1.3 Any improvements in 2.0 for scale applications?

Absolutely. Those wobble issues were specifically addressed and eliminated in 2.0. Were there to be a wobble, the way head response works now (p gain scaler) will allow them to be tuned right out.

Ben,

I was going through the V2.0 Manual. On V1.4 gains for ail and ele were sent to the 750 through the S.Bus, ch 9 and ch10, respectively. V2.0 has only Rotor Head gain which I assume control both ail and ele gains, correct? Also there is no Ail.Sepa option on the v2.0. Do you know why Rotor Head gain substituted individual ail and ele gains?

On Futaba Tx's, in the Gyro programming option, gain can be programmed for all three axis, ail gain through ch 9 and ele gain through ch 10. With V2.0 I guess only rud and ail gain is needed to be programmed, ele gain programming won't be used anymore. Is this correct or I'm missing something here?

Thank you!!

Just in case anyone else has switched to Windows 10 since the last time they used the CIU-2. I ran into to trouble installing the drivers because they are not signed. I found how to disable the driver signing requirement so that you can install it.

Here is the link to the update in you need it.

I've updated on of my three CGY750s so far.

CRTC,

Correct. There is just combined head gain in 3D mode. Over time in testing we got into the habit of ganging both ail and ele trans gain on a single S.Bus channel because it became more important to keep those values relatively the same as each other. I remember starting to do it and then along the way I told Nick and he said he had been doing the same thing for a good while as well. The need to have discrete and independently adjustable cyclic axes gains went by the wayside with the markedly evolved engineering of the new firmware. Stuff is just simpler and better.

That's why I wanted you to hang in there til it released.

Ben Minor

PS: When you set it to 3D mode, it reset your tail angular rate to 720 d/s. That's likely from where at least some your perceived sensitivity comes.

If you were using "Sport" mode previously in the RUD gyro, change 2.0 RUD rate to 450 deg/sec and take the expo to -60 to match what was in Sport mode. To be complete, delay in from 15 to 12 and delay out from 12 to 10 gets you the rest of the way.

i need help so, i reset my gy750 after flying it great coming from v1.4. after resetting the gyro, my heli now wobbles in a hover. it wouls sometimes wobble a lot, sometimes not so noticeable. what can i check on the gy750 to fix this?
coming from v1.4, all i did after updating was to set it to 3d mode and it flew great! now that i reset and started from scratch, it wobbles wether i lowered the ail and elev gains on the radio. my gains are at 58 and i lowered it up to 40 to no avail. it must be something else. other than that and the basic set ups, i didn't touch anything. HELP!
