I hear he said it wasn't 1.5 firmware upgraded, So that sounded like it was going to be new hardware. I guess I was reading into this to much LOL . But 2.0 is welcomed.

I overheard a conversation from Nick Maxwell and Cliff Hiatt at OHB, both testers and team Futaba and extremely wise pilots, and they seem to really like the new version above all the others. Nick flew it on all his demos.

Good news for Futaba users

if i had a nickel for every ahole that...

I'm glad there are still updating the cgy 750 but they need to catch up on hardware/software features from other vendors. But I know that day will come. I still think the cgy 750 is the best gyro for any nitro. And 1.4 was very good for electrics except for the governor like to overdrive smaller birds (450L high pitch squeele). Make the next gyro mu-lit functional, Heil,Mulirotors, airplanes and even if you crazy cars (one ring to rule them all!!!). Also the oled is great for tweaking on the field but as setup its so so. They really need to utilize sbus2 way communication more between the unit and radio (Real-time adjustments/feedback from your TX are the key). Also 6 axis unit would be nice too.

This firmware update maximizes the current hardware and platform. There is now bank switching. Flight tuning is now super easy. There are several adjustments to directly affect feel and to allow for anything from fully robotic to extremely fluid with no induced quirks by tuning at one end or the other. There is pit>ele compensation in there, but the firmware works so well it is rarely needed. Cyclic>throttle feed forward mixing is now in there if you care to use it. Most importantly, there have been major, major changes to the way the pitch and roll axes interact with aggressive collective input and to that relationship to piro compensation. The nose of the model now will stay very quiet during tic tocs, and piro pogos are now amazingly flat.

For F3C people, full F3C menu is in there but I will tell you that a model well tuned in 3D mode hovers incredibly well and of course executes aeros in like manner, unlike anything you've experienced with a Futaba gyro to date. It will simply blow your mind.

Current hardware
Happy Dance !!! LOL I will read into this quote.

Thanks for the answer. I hope when Futaba has the ability of more banks , they will release a GUI that you can view all you bank settings and compare them in a glance (like in a table format). This always bother me with vbar, they had banks for years ,but you could not compare/edit them easily. Very error prone. Thanks for the update.

Function bank 1 , bank 2 , bank 3 ....
Gain E 80 70 60 ....
Gain A 80 70 60 ....
Gain T 60 50 40 ....

Think of it as flight conditions for the fbl controller's flight characteristic tuning parameters. Some will use one for hover and another for aeros. Others will use two for two different feels for aeros, optimization for markedly different headspeeds, or whatever suits their needs or fancy. I take two banks and one model and make it park in hover like you can't hardly imagine and then be as fluidly or aggressive in aerobatics as anyone would care to fly or anything in between. Basically you can tune your model to feel exactly as you wish.....and quickly and easily.

Dr Ben,

Is the new version 2.0 that much better than v1.4. I have two models set up with CGY750s using v1.4 and simply love the feel they give. I am very reluctant to change the software and find that the feel had changed to something I was not so happy with?
