After all these years of people flying rc in the no fly zones for full size, how many incidents have there been to justify such an over reach? to take away our liberties for a little unjustified security is just wrong.

Exactly.....

If I were shown a plausible reason for not flying, I would comply without complaint....Nothing like that is forthcoming from the FAA or the AMA...What the FAA is doing may be legal, but it is wrong, These people work for us, folks.Time to start active resistance.

CHECK THIS OUT FOLKS:

We're excited about Prime Air — a future delivery system from Amazon designed to safely get packages to customers in 30 minutes or less using small unmanned aerial vehicles, also called drones. Prime Air has great potential to enhance the services we already provide to millions of customers by providing rapid parcel delivery that will also increase the overall safety and efficiency of the transportation system. Putting Prime Air into service will take some time, but we will deploy when we have the regulatory support needed to realize our vision...

Our airspace has been sold to the highest bidder IMHO

Eaxctly! You all hit the nail on the head. "Follow the money".
Even if they raise a registration fee to 50 dollars it won't be squat compared to what "Industry" is willing and able to fund them with.

Who all was on the advisory board along with the AMA when the FAA was hashing this all out?

Let alone the Arial photography businesses (Full scale),competing for the same dollars that guys with industrial quads and hexes are taking away from them. It's all about the money.

FAA did us all a solid favor giving us 30 days to register for free and we in turn treated them like a step child...

I think we are burning through our favors rapidly following AMA directions such as this.

We may not like a change, but we have to comply while fighting in the proper venues such as the court system and working with congress.

It would take an aviation attorney and a law library to answer that question. Yeah, we think that they over stepped. TSA, FBI, Secret Service, FAA and the care bears disagree and they have all the keys to Barbie's castle.

#1 91-57A
https://www.faa.gov/documentLibrary...r/AC_91-57A.pdf

Violates the mandates made by congress in 2012 Modernization act Special rule for model aircraft Sec 336.
http://www.modelaircraft.org/files/hr658_020112.pdf

Congress clearly told the FAA it would not make any further rules or regulations in regards to model aircraft.
Congress clearly told the FAA it could go after those endangering the NAS and nothing more.

The FAA made the ridiculous claim it could expand the definition of aircraft to include model aircraft. Thus retroactively applying all full scale aircraft rules to model aircraft.

The FRZ has allays included a ban on model aircraft within 15 miles of DC in any direction. The nut jobs running the FAA are now applying full-scale SFRA aircraft rules to model aircraft.

This is in pure defiance of our elected officials. The FAA is operating in a manner that is oppression and will be treated as such.

I find turnabout fair play. Today I declare any model aircraft I fly a toy and not subject to any of your rules.

Wait I can't redefine a word ? What gives you the right FAA? Lets go to court and see how fast you lose FAA.

The best part of this only the fields with exemptions will be able to fly within 60 nautical miles according to these jokers. So I have to drive 60 miles away from dc or fly at approved field.

Americans have a history of dealing with tyrants expect no less FAA if you continue down this path.

Fwiw..

After calming down a bit...

I reread the FAA letter to the AMA again.....

I noticed the snarkily worded threat made in same, saying you could lose this entirely if you don't do as we say EVEN IF YOU HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THE FAA OR THE AMA...

Here's the deal..All I ever want to hear from a govt morlok is "Yes, Sir..."
All I ever want to see is elbows and a$$holes....I am their employer, Luke.....
I too, declare my helis and airplanes toys....

In a democracy doesn't the will of the people rule? If we (the people of these United States) choose to fly drones, doesn't the FAA have to let us
We live in a Republic, not a Democracy.
I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all
Not "And too the Democracy for which it stands...".

We elect our local, state and Federal representatives and they are supposed to listen to the people who elected them and pass laws and legislation.

We do not vote on each law or legislation package - we are supposed to trust our elected representatives.

And, we do not directly elect the President either.

May I suggest that if you don't like it, vote for a different representative next time.
Believe 1/2 of what you see and none of what you hear.
Fake News will be the downfall of our Republic!

The solution is to simply build a 400 ft. cover over our field. Then we will be flying indoors

I think that we need to temper our comments with the facts. The FAA has a lot or regulatory power. For the AMA or anyone to face them down takes a lot of legal expense and time.

Who is to say that congress does not change the law we are depending on in the next go around? I think that we are not going to get anywhere fighting and running our mouths with derogatory comments about the FAA on websites. The affected parties need to get together and find the best legal strategy to fight the regulations.
