WTF was it doing over his path?! Yet another unsafe, idiotic operation trying to get "the perfect shot."

YouTube comments blaming cold batteries. NO. You should never position a model such that power failure will do that. Cold batteries, maybe "cause," but certainly not "blame." Blame, comes right back down to the "loose nut at the sticks."

On a positive, though, it was not just another rogue quad/cam pilot flying stupidly. This time it was a professional quad/cam pilot flying stupidly.

This sort of thing is going to be the end of us. I think cameras belong on tripods, tracks, and blimps. Something about Quad + Camera brings out the worst.

But hey, let's not regulate them. Let's instead register every type of model including the LOS hobby ones that were never an issue. Thanks, FAA.

This is the sort of thing that points at regulation down the road. Registration would have done exactly WHAT for this, now? No. Registration is insufficient, as many of us have stated.

Now if the owner had registered with the FAA, there wouldn't have been a problem!

Documented evidence that you can't fix stupid.

And yet while WE will all recognize that, the non-flying public will just agree with the government "fix." This video; perfect timing for FAA to point and say "see, told you something needs to be done."

No one cares that "something" like registration, isn't going to fix it.

But nonetheless, it feeds the monster with every stupid thing that continues to happen with camera quads. Agonizing. We had the guy at the Washington Memorial on the 17th, now this. Can't go a week without a major newsworthy event.

first comes registration, then comes regulation,
and it won't matter if there are a thousand regulations to prevent accidents, they will still happen.

Life was pretty simple and safe when there wasn't much technology around.

Like still living in a cave . . . then the only thing you had to worry about was the bear living in the back of the cave . . .

. . . the bear didn't care about people's laws . . . then or now.

Technology is great until it fails. The footage of the drone crashing is a perfect example. I don't fear the drone crashing as much as the pilot in command.
