So... let me get this right. You just compared having to register to fly RC Aircraft to Adolph Hitler and WWII Germany? That is pretty insulting. How much lower must you reach?
It's a philosophical reference, nothing more so don't read anything more into it.

Yeah right... maybe you leave philosophy to someone competent. An apology for overstepping seems more in order. It's either the race card, or the Nazi card when an argument is lost.

With 1.6 million of these "aerial appliances" airborne, things had to change. Registration is a pin prick. It certainly is not a roundup and FAA concentration camps. Loose the WWII references.

WTF is arguing? We're having a discussion, nothing more and I'm not apologizing. That's the same lame crap that the news media likes to use on folks, well if you can't win the argument let's pull out the Nazi card. So that's it, it doesn't apply because we're not arguing.

Besides, the FAA had a choice, they didn't have to let the manufacturers sell 1.6 million aerial appliances......but they did and they can't use that as an excuse to register those of us that aren't the problem.
things had to change
like what? What had to change. No airliner, no private plane, no helicopter, no hang glider, no sport plane, no ultralight, no aircraft of any kind has crashed due to a model aircraft so what had to change?

BTW, if you ever have to move back to Silver Springs, I really hope there's a way that you can fly and that the SFRA BS is resolved. But if not......................

"Only a piece of paper"

Yes, I have my "piece of paper" now. But it's more than a "piece of paper."

I happened to read the text on the several pages of the filling out the form process.

That "piece of paper", among other bits and pieces of information, required you to answer a few questions along the way, and to acknowledge certain other questions.

Among other items, to complete the process you had to acknowledge that the information you had given was correct and true, under penalty of perjury. As I recall, there was also an acknowledgement that one would not fly above 400 feet altitude.

That "piece of paper" now means you've agreed to abide by "their" rules, or find yourself heavily fined, or perhaps seeing the inside of a federal institution for up to three years. The "piece of paper" packs a wallop.

Since it was in a different thread, some may have missed this part of a post from Terry Moore --
Both FAA and Schulman expects that every registrant will become a defacto arm of the FAA and drop a dime on anyone that is a "bad actor". This is straight out of the FAA playbook. Today I was forwarded a letter from the FAA via my Congressman that used identical language. The FAA actually believes that registration ensures that registrants will turn aerial appliance operators in for questionable flights we might witness.
So. Registration is just a piece of paper, and we can go our own way. Of course, it appears that we should all be ready to "rat out" others to the FAA. Kind of an FAA "secret police."

That same administration which began part of its reign by "registering" those who it believed were a problem also encouraged individuals to "rat out" their neighbors.

Best not to offend your neighbors, or even members of your local club. lest you suddenly find it necessary to defend yourself against what could be baseless accusations.

The AMA doesn't fine people, confiscate their models, throw them in jail and give them a criminal record.

That's horsehockey and you know it. Show one example where AMA has revoked a membership. They Damn sure can't fine you and throw you in jail along with confiscating your models so that comparison isn't even in the same galaxy. This is exactly what I expect from an FAA shill. Your schtick is really getting tired.
