I bought a set of Align BL-8XX HV servos from a guy here on RR.
They are 3 BL-815HV and 1 BL-855HV.

I may have gotten a price that was "Too Good To Be True".
He said they were "Pulled from a new 700 Dominator kit"
https://rc.runryder.com/t798625p1/?p=6531986#RR

I am starting to see comments about these servos being trouble and I am worried.

From what I gather, some BL-8XX HV servos have serial numbers (these are "good" ) and some do not (these are "bad" ).
People that bought kits with BL-8XX HF servos without SN can send them to Align for servos with SN.

The servos I bought may not have the serial numbers (I don't know for sure). Two of the BL-815HV have the same number printed on the bottom (H1505) and the third has a different number (C1531).
The tail rotor servo has yet a third number (B1510)

The real question is:
Are the BL-8XX servos without serial numbers deadly?
As in "They WILL fail, they are no good, don't fly them"?

I have not even started the helicopter yet.

This is a 700N converted to the CHP direct to swash setup (similar to the 700E Dominator) with the DFC head and 715mm blades.

Would Align help me if I needed to swap them for servos with serial numbers?
If so, where do I call?

I haven't talked to the guy I bought the servos from, so I don't know where he bought his kit.

Thanks.

Hey buddy.

Don't worry your servos have the serial, the number under the "Made In Taiwan" is the serial. On one of your servos I saw it read "C15XX".
I had a set of the previous release which didn't not have this serial number and according to what I know it's this small number under the made in Taiwan you're looking for.

Any servo can fail. Just do a thorough pre flight check each time if you are concerned.

60% of the time, it works every time!

Serial number servos are still failing and UK distributor knows this. We have had two 700s go in hard due to proven servo failure, the shop(AlignTrex)(Raj) replaced the ones he sold without question and the faulty ones went back to Align. Not sure where the other flier who had them fail got them from.

Both sets under 3 months old and both times they failed by going back and forth to extreme limits of travel inflight and afterwards on the bench but were perfect preflight.

One set was a maiden flight brand new servos second one was 20 flights old set.

Servos
Has there been a solution on this bl815/bl855 servo problem?

I am thinking about a Dominator combo kit, but its a lot of money to find out the servos are junk.

I read somewhere (can't remember) that it was the G-Pro causing the problems. Is this true or someone's guess?

Ha just saw your post on Align servos.
It's to late now.
I got on that sight and they have some good deals. You got the best one!!!!!! A 550E without battery's was over $1000.00 so I guess your 700 was a real deal.

Yup, I'm excited.

My first 700 class heli.

I guess they have all the issues worked out from what I read.

Another team build too, we'll have fun!
