Hey guys!

A buddy of mine has a Trex700 with a speed fuse on it and had a mishap... There was a bolt or two loose on the boom which resulted in the blades striking the tail. He doesn't have the funds to replace them at the time and asked what I thought of the damage. I, personally, wouldn't fly them but what do you guys think?

Is a little drop of CA good enough to keep these flyable?

NOTE- He said he could separate one of the blades and see the foam inside...

Save them for testing a new fbl gyro, in case something isn't quite right, no sense in wrecking a new pair of blades.

I would personally not use them. They'd be in the trash. Not worth the safety risk, or destroying another heli over buying a $100 set of new blades.

That's what he did. He's actually still flying them as if nothing was wrong. Not what I would do but hey, it's not my Heli...

He was, often... He did a few flights with them (against everyone's recommendations) and finally got a new set over the holidays.

trailing edges? in a case like this I would sand the frayed sections off with a small taper to removed most of the fray, 15 minute set epoxy or ca the edges and fine sand again to make uniform and smooth.

blades will actually withstand a lot of nicks and chips as long as they are filled right away, the most they do is slow the blade down some. Go ahead and do your own destructive testing on a spent blade by whacking it edgewise on something hard, they just don't look purdy after a few small dings is all. When they delam, that's the time to replace (although I have my personal experience in plastics so I know the limits of what is save-able and what's bye bye, a lot can be saved but starts to look ghetto after awile).
