Gaui x5 formula easy to see and floats in there air better then anything i have ever flown its quiet stable and powerful if i had to pick somthing other then that it would be a goblin 380

the goblin 500 is close but it just wants to boogie

park size they are all good but when people come into play then there is a problem with all of the above really no helis should be flown then

Mabey one day i will actually land one of these things !!

Too much controversy
He didn't say "fly unsafely at a park"..it can be done safely at certain times; Cfx 180 for park and Logo 480; 500; or 550 everywhere else..it's the beauty of this hobby..you can't just have one !

I do a great decending funnel!

For a small area, a Warp 360!

For a large area (safe for large machines), a Chronos!

Any 450-500 really. Any bigger and they need more room to fly and cost more to repair, any smaller and you loose performance.

60% of the time, it works every time!

To the OP's original question, mine would be a 550e. They are reasonably quiet but can still perform closer to the level of a larger heli.

As for the debate over park flying....well, that a tough call. With safety and common sense in mind, flying ANYTHING at a park full of bystanders is dumb, I won't fly there...not even a 450 or under.

I'm not saying I haven't flown at an empty lot or open field before. I've also flown my 700s in my neighborhood before. I know some of you will gasp in shock but yeah I've done it more than once.

My rules are simple.

Neighborhoods: Restricted to hover flights, ground testing, and tuning. I do not run within 75 ft of any houses or cars and I do not fly above the lowest roof line. I do not fly 3D for full circuits. When bystanders or cars are around I land and wait for them to pass. The heli has to stay within 25ft of me and under 10-15ft. No FFF.

Parks, open lots and fields: Restricted to short circuits, slow 3D, and under 50ft. If there are no signs or fences stating no trespassing. It's an option, but only during the least busy hours. From there, restrictions are determined by proximity to people, busy roads, businesses, poles, wires, and homes. If it's within city limits, I stay under 50ft as much as I can. 3D is based of the machine and the size and shape of the flying space. I love fenced in areas because it's less likely you have a bystander sneak up on you or walk into your flight path. No FFF.

RC Fields or large open land: Unrestricted.

In any case, "worst case scenario" is always considered. Fly-aways, are always considered first. I will scope out a site for a few months before I start flying there. I think you can fly safely in most situations if you use common sense, don't fly outside of your skill, and make sure your machines are carefully serviced. Things happen, but I do what I can to prevent them and still fly.

He didn't say "fly unsafely at a park"..
He didnt even say 'fly in a park'. He said "fly wherever, parks, ama fields, etc"

I'm resisting the urge to make a comment on reading comprehension...

Are you guys seriously registering already? STOP! We have until 19 February. Read the letter from Jim Tiller at the AMA saying maybe we wait until last day to register.

Don't register early to save the $5. That's ridiculous. It legitimizes the "rule" even as it's being fought.
