Been flying 14mz for a long time, also vbar since the start.

Thinking of the new radio- is all that would be required would be the sat receiver to connect to my full size, silver line and miniV?

The Neo does not have the Rx built in right?

Thanks, Steve

There is a V-bar neo express that does not have a built in rx. This is for pilots using other branded Tx's.

The V-bar link neo has a built in rx that works with V-control and V-control only.

A neo express can be used with V-control by simply adding the external satellite rx, but you must buy the proper cable or replace the rx connector with a pair of servo lead connectors. This is as simple as removing the plastic connector from the wire/pins and snapping on new servo tabs with a new wire pinout arrangement. 3 minutes, tops.

The satellite rx's plug right into the older silver line full size and mini blueline V-bar gyros.

Considering the cost of the rx's and the size of your fleet, upgrading them can be a financial investment.

Enjoy things that money can buy IF you don't lose the things money can't buy.

Express/pro/rescue all are descriptions of the software you want to run on your NEO.
Any Neo will work with any radio or VControl. If it is a non VLink NEO, you need the cable or make your own to connect a VControl receiver.
The Vlink NEO has a VControl rx built in already so you don't need an external one. That rx only works with VControl.
So there are four NEOs:
Non Vlink NEO
Non Vlink NEO with external sensor

Vlink NEO
VLink NEO with external sensor

Then you choose if you want to use the express software that is loaded on it, upgrade to pro software, or upgrade to pro/rescue software.

Now if you have legacy VBARS (Blueline, Silverline, Black), when you convert them to 6.0 you will get the pro software also for free on them if you don't already have it. The older VBARS cannot be upgraded to rescue, that s only for NEOs.....Ron

Yes. Just sats is all that is required.

When I converted to Vcontrol I got one NEO WITH the rx to try it out, and got satellites for my miniv and full size vbars to get everything back in the air.

I will upgrade to NEO on everything if I really find rescue and telemetry to be that big of a deal. Aside from that I can't tell much difference between a NEO and an older vbar. They feel the same in the air to me.

Plus your older stuff gets a free upgrade to PRO--something you'll have to pay for on NEO. However, only NEO can do Rescue and telemetry.

if it ain't broke, break it.

Unfortunately not. I think '09 might have been the last one. It was a lot of fun, but a scare with losing our lease made everyone apprehensive. We still have our land but no one bothered to pick the funfly back up

Livermore, Morgan hill, Orville, and helifreak are the big ones left out here.

if it ain't broke, break it.
