I am new to this site and was told I could get a lot of my questions answered here. Eaton Bryce said this would be the place to ask about getting some good retracts for my Funkey fuselage bell 222. I been looking all over and see nice ones on some people's Helis and I don't like the cheap ones that came with the kit. I am building this as my first fuselage kit. Once done I am going to go all in on a more expensive kit. But didn't want to spend a lot on the first one and not like it or loose Interest. Would anyone her in this group be able to steer me in the right direction? Thanks for any advise I could get.

Welcome to RR! Also just FYI there is a scale forum here where you will get to read and ask just about anything related to scale Helis

Retracts
Go look at Dennisrc.com and follow the airwolf build. He has bought some nice ones. If nothing else, you will see one of the best builders/builds (I think) ever done. I was speechless as I stayed up all night long to view his whole build until I had to go to work the next morning. To say he's detailed is and understatement!

When in doubt....fly higher!

Depends on whether you would prefer to use mechanical or pneumatic retracts.

As far as reliability and simplicity.

Electric
Hey E,
You forgot to mention electric retracts..
I was able to order, almost drop in units, from HK for my 700 A109... then used some break line and imagination to come up with the easiest retracts I have ever dealt with.,. 2 seasons and doing fine..,
