I am in the process of converting a 1001 to CCPM and having trouble programming a 8FG to control it. The old push-pull, tilting
aileron setup is gone, replaced by two servos, side by side. H1 setting is the only one that lets the elevator servo work that way it should. all the other swash settings try to move the elevator in a mix when inputting collective only. Not having much luck with the Function screen. This must have been done in the past with these machines, not really finding too much about it though.
Thanks, Dan.

I love this stuff...

This is on my 18mz but I'm sure your radio will do it. These are plain free mixers. Use H1 swashplate. You'll need to play with the percentage and direction of mixing to get what you want. Once the percentages are set, your pitch curves work as usual as will your dual rates.

I configured this using my transmitter's servo monitor screen. Get the collective working first, then set the roll mixer. Set the volume of the mix for your maximum desired collective and roll throw.

Make sense?

I made the changes you have shown me, the only thing now is when i apply collective, both servos rotate the same direction. The right should move ccw, and the left should move cw, say for positive collective. Then I suppose the aileron would need reversed?

Good deal. I figured you might have to play with direction a little to get stuff moving the right way. Let me know if you need more help.

Having a bit of trouble with the mixing. At 0 blade pitch, (center stick), all is well, but when collective moves + or - very far the aileron movement starts reducing down. The only way I got it close was to make the LINK all +, However it had a bad case of servo jitters! I have played around with the settings and haven't really got close to replicating the factory movements with the old style linkages.
Does anyone publish a book on programming the 8FG that is a bit more straightforward?

A few things......

1. In the servo end point screen, make sure the servo travel is set to 100 and the limits are set to 155.

2. What servo arm radii are you using on the pitch and roll servos?

The end point limits are 135 / 100, the ball mounting distance from center is 12mm (.472). Ill try 155 /100. Do you think more travel is needed, 14mm?

12mm will never work. You need 17-20mm. You're currently using up all your travel for collective with nothing left for cyclic.

Works now, went to 20mm wheels, changed the end points on Ail and Pit to 155/50 50/155. Only thing is Swash ring cant be used with this setup, it tries to mix Ele with Ail, and the Ail is just the left servo now. I just need to do a more careful setup for when the sticks are pushed into the corners.
Thanks again!, Dan C.

You might consider using a good ole cyclic ring since an electronic iteration is not an option. They're out there to fit your transmitter.

Did you reduce the ail and pit end points to reduce cyclic travel?

Reducing the end points worked for controlling the overall travel. The cyclic ring you're talking about, is it something that fits on the transmitter physically? Never heard of one that wasn't
electronic.

That would be a way to go, but I use the radio for a Fury extreme as well as planes. I have the setup dialed back enough now so it wont bind in the corners.
